After childbirth

How I quickly lost weight after giving birth without much effort

Hello girls, my name is Ekaterina! I decided to share my personal story about how much I gained after giving birth, but quickly regained weight without exhausting diets, workouts and "miracle drugs".

Before pregnancy and childbirth, she stably kept 59 kg (height 173 cm). After giving birth, I recovered not by the prescribed 10, but by as much as 20 kg.

The extra pounds appeared in stages. After the birth of the baby, the scales for some time showed 72 (+13 kg) - I thought that “it's okay, during the feeding time I will return to at least 63”, because the fuss was planned immeasurably. It wasn't like that. My baby is quiet, calm: he eats and sleeps, sleeps and eats - there was no particular trouble. When I was breastfeeding (and because of GW I always wanted to chew something), I constantly walked around the house and chewed. It used to happen that I had just finished eating soup and tea with a sandwich with sausage, and after 10 minutes I wanted to eat again: I went and ate another cupcake or a piece of chocolate. My son is not allergic, so she didn’t deny herself a sweet tooth. I moved a little, and spent my free time on the couch.

When I got on the scales 3 months after giving birth, I was surprised to find + 7 kg (79 kg / 173 cm). And now walks with a stroller were difficult: they rolled out into the park, there was no strength and desire to walk, so I sat down on a bench with a book. In my pocket there were always sweets, crackers, seeds or dryers in reserve.

After giving birth, we continued to communicate with the girls from the ward with whom we lay together in the hospital. One of the mothers returned to her original weight after 4 months. It became enviable, kindly, so she began to ask what and how. “It somehow itself,” - this is the answer I received. Is that why she does it herself, but I can't do that? What's wrong? I thought, analyzed, looked for reasons and found answers.

3 reasons why I can't lose weight

I have identified 3 factors that prevent weight loss without grueling workouts (for which young mothers lack the strength, time, and desire).

  1. The scariest point that you can't get rid of, and it's incredibly difficult to rebuild is nutrition... As a lover of baking, she could not live a day without a bun. I tried to drown out the heightened feeling of hunger with frequent snacks.
  2. Little by little it turned into a seal - very little movement: I didn’t walk much, often sat on the street, and lay at home. I consumed tons of calories, and without consumption, they settled in the body in the form of fat deposits.
  3. It's about the environment: relatives and friends were satisfied with my appearance or were silent out of politeness. On the one hand, it's great that they didn't poke extra pounds in the face (she could break into all sorts of expensive super-means for losing weight or go on some kind of terrible diet for the body, harming both herself and the baby). The husband did not see the problem, they say, everyone is recruiting after giving birth. At first, I did not see the problem, and I even began to get used to things several sizes larger than prenatal ones. This is the other side of the coin: “Couldn't they have hinted that it was time to do something about it ?!”.

And yet, the main incentive was the banal “Why am I worse than the rest of the girls who managed to get back in shape after giving birth?”. Familiar young mothers briskly began to put themselves in order, and I stood out against their background with my size. When the child was 4.5 months old, I decided to take care of myself.

What did I do to lose weight

Having identified the “root of evil”, I worked on the errors for each item.

Nutrition

The new diet looked like this:

  • Chicken and beef soups with vegetables. If possible, make broths from homemade chicken, so rich. Homemade meat made the soups more satisfying, but I still didn’t eat enough - I had to eat steamed buckwheat, rice, millet or wheat porridge with the addition of butter;
  • It was impossible to exclude from the menu vegetables that did not give a feeling of satiety because of the benefits for the child. She ground the boiled vegetables with a blender until puree, added a piece of butter, yolk and shared with Kiryusha. If she ate it herself, she did not add the yolk, but ate a boiled egg;
  • Mashed potatoes in water or boiled milk (be sure to boil if breastfeeding);
  • I ate a little cottage cheese and cheese every day. Perfectly satisfies hunger as an independent dish or an addition to one of the cereals;
  • She made pork cutlets with beef from meat, boiled beef, and later added lean pork to the diet;
  • Sweet limited to dryers, a little chocolate and homemade oatmeal cookies without margarine;
  • At first I drank tea that was not very much brewed without sugar, later I added freshly ground coffee (small doses in the morning).

A little tip: A diary helped me a lot to eliminate the problem of nutrition: I planned my diet, wrote everything down there, what I cook or want to cook. There were recipes and grocery lists, as I took it to the store.

Activity

She coped with a passive lifestyle with the help of walks. Leaving the house, I forced myself to forget about the shop with the book, and walked for 1.5-2 hours. I didn't carry a pedometer with me, but I suspect that the mileage was decent, even with the load in the form of a stroller. The first time was not easy: I was terribly tired, my legs were buzzing from habit, and upon returning home I was extremely hungry. Saved vegetable soups prepared in advance in broth.

Eliminated any snacks while walking!

Over time, the child began to crawl, and I began to move more: just have time to catch up (and you are worried that you might hit, you didn't drag some nasty stuff into your mouth, so you jump up on every occasion).

Attitude of close people

The problem was solved by itself: when I announced my idea, friends, relatives and, first of all, my husband supported the idea and willingly helped with the diet.

results

I remind you that I began to embody the idea when the child was 4.5 months old, and I, with a height of 173 cm, weighed 79 kilos.

  • For the first 30 days it took 5 kg (luckily there was no limit);
  • The second month took 4 kg;
  • On the third, despite all attempts, the weight remained unchanged (70 kg / 173 cm);
  • Over the next 30 days, we managed to improve the result by another 2 kilograms, then by 5;
  • At the time when Kiryusha was 9 months old, I weighed 63 kg.

I was not going to stop there, so I continued to follow the usual “program”, only the activity was added: my son grew up, began to crawl, then walk and run, well, it became harder to lift him 🙂

Now the child is 1.5 years old, weighs 61 kg (fluctuations + - 2 kilos). When the weight settled down, I returned to normal food, without significant restrictions. The only thing that I don't use is the standard harmfulness that all nutritionists advise to exclude: such as sausages, chips, cola, fatty store cakes.

It may seem to some that I did not lose weight so quickly, but I believe that a slender mother and a 9-month-old baby are not such a frequent phenomenon. Immediately after giving birth, few lose weight in a month or two, and for the most part, those who did not gain anything at all. And don't forget that the method does not imply super-loads - a minimum of effort that works 100%.
