10 reasons not to put your child to sleep on the balcony

Why isn't a child's sleep on the balcony beneficial? We have collected the most important arguments against sleeping on the balcony and will gladly share them with you.

With the suggestion of Dr. Komarovsky, sleeping on the balcony has become very popular among Russian mothers. And, for example, in America such a practice would arouse serious interest from social services. Let's see why sleeping on the balcony is dangerous for a child.

A fall

Most likely, there is no sleeping place on the balcony, and the stroller is unsafe! After sleeping, an active child may try to sit in it or even get up. And it will be very difficult to prevent a fall, even if you notice it in advance from the room.

Greenhouse effect

Modern balconies are usually glazed. How many windows is mom ready to open so that both fresh air comes in and the baby does not blow? Probably just one thing. And the rest of the glass is heated in the sun, and the balcony turns into a greenhouse. What do you think, is your baby good there?

Rickets threat

Ultraviolet light, getting on the skin, helps it produce vitamin D. But ultraviolet rays have not yet learned how to break through glass. This means that you cannot do without daily walks in the fresh air (at least 30 minutes), otherwise one day you risk actually finding out what rickets is.

Neighbors

Do you know whose balcony is above yours? Perhaps your neighbor is an avid smoker, and often goes out onto the balcony, along the way treating your baby to puffs of cigarette smoke. And a cigarette butt thrown from above will, at best, burn a hole in a stroller or blanket. Or maybe your neighbor started a general cleaning and decided to shake out the door mat on the balcony just during a nap?

Cluttered balcony

Let's be honest - balconies are usually littered with rubbish. Skis, bicycles, a Christmas tree, old toys - what is there not! Are you sure that none of this will fall on your sleeping child one day? And the dust? Do you dust all of these things so that your little one doesn't get allergies?

Bad air

You are very lucky if your balcony opens onto a park or courtyard full of flowers, trees, and singing birds. And if a busy highway passes under it, there are garbage cans or a factory puffs? Do you think this is exactly what a sleeping child should breathe?

Weather

While mom is busy with household chores, the weather outside the window can change dramatically without informing her of her intentions. A barely audible rain can easily flood the stroller with the child, and the suddenly peeping sun can warm up the baby under a blanket no worse than in a bath. Tempting prospect, isn't it?

Lack of development

Almost all children, waking up on the street, look around, notice birds and butterflies flying past, examine trees and flowers. And what will the baby see when he wakes up on the balcony? Christmas tree, skis and bike? No wonder he wakes up crying.

The habit of falling asleep in a wheelchair

Do you want to know what parents feel when their children fall asleep in their favorite stroller in the evenings? And at night, waking up in their crib, demanding to return them to their usual sleeping place? Put your baby to sleep on the balcony more often! Of course, the habit of sleeping in a stroller can also appear in children who walk in the yard or in the park. But the fresh air and other advantages of such walks are at least worth it!

Mom locked up

Dear mothers! For one and a half to two hours that your child sleeps on the balcony, you will not prepare food for a month in advance and will not wash your apartment to a mirror shine. But the constant presence in four walls will negatively affect your appearance. Maybe take a walk after all?
