Wallpaper for a teenage boy

Wall murals are an actual way to design a room. For a teenager in a room, it is often peculiar to decorate the walls with posters, art objects, that is, everything that will help his self-expression. Often this set of posters does not look aesthetically pleasing and even pretentious. Wall murals are a good help in shaping the taste in design, because the choice is huge and can please even the most notorious rebel.

Features:

Teenage wallpapers have two main goals - the originality of design and self-expression. At such an interesting age, everyone wants to be special and unlike anyone else, and what if not decorating a room will make you feel like a free individualist.

Wall murals have the effect of creating an atmosphere of order - a large image is much better than small posters scattered on the wall of not the best quality and appearance.

Such wallpapers can be selected ready-made or made to order according to your own sketches. In the second case, you will have to take into account that the price will be higher. Another advantage is that repairs can be limited only by the wall on which this design will be, if, of course, the room is in good condition. In the future, the image can be left or changed as the child's preferences change.

Photowall-paper has a different type of surfaces - gloss, matte, textured, volumetric elements - everything that will add style and originality.

Kinds

The subject matter of images can be extensive. Male themes or laconic lines - it all depends on the desire.

  • Auto. Everything about cars and motorcycles always affects both boys and adult men.

  • Music. Pop, rock, folk, whatever. It can be your favorite band, performer, musical instruments. On the opposite wall, you can place a couple of posters of the theme.
  • Cinema. Each teenager has a favorite movie character or a frame from it, or maybe it's a collage of frames.

  • Sport. Players, playgrounds, tabloids - all this will create an atmosphere of complete immersion in your favorite sport.

  • Technics. Gadgets and modern gadgets, graphics, computer games.
  • Journey. This includes a variety of maps, landscapes, vehicles. The actual solution is the city - night or day, in motion or empty.
  • Nature. Boys love to compare themselves with predators - lions, tigers, wolves - a common solution for the interior.

And many teenagers also love wall-to-wall landscapes. An example of such a design solution is in the following video.

  • Art. Graffiti and abstract images have always attracted teenagers, they can have a hypnotic image or a stereo image, or they can be just lines and broken lines with different geometric shapes.

  • Texture. Teens can be avid minimalists. These are the ones who choose photowall-paper for a brick wall, metal coating, stone and others.

Materials

  • Paper. They have a small price, but they also wear out rather quickly. They are prone to fading, so if the wall is opposite the window, then it is better to refuse paper. Easy to replace if you get bored with drawing. It has good breathability.

  • Non-woven. Harmless and environmentally friendly wallpaper. They are of a fairly high quality. They can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.

  • Vinyl. Dense in texture, which means they are wear-resistant to rubbing and fading. They can be washed. Easily removable from the wall, which is convenient for repairs and minor pattern inconsistencies. The price for them is much higher, but corresponds to the characteristics. With mass production, a flaw is possible - a mismatch of the elements of the picture.

  • The cloth. Most expensive material. Dense, with a bright pattern, will serve a long service. But for a children's room it has a disadvantage - a high dust content.

  • Jute or bamboo. A combination of paper base and plant fibers. They have good sound insulation and durability, and are breathable.

In modern photowall-paper there are fluorescent inserts for brightness and effect, which glow in the dark, fully replacing a night light. Vinyl stickers of similar style will complement the image. Also, the set may include LED strips for decoration. Photo wallpaper can have foam or wooden inserts to add volume and realism to the image.

Where to place?

Zoning a teen's room is important. Comfort and psychological state depend on the location of objects. Therefore, the location of the photo wallpaper depends on how you want to arrange the furniture.

The placement of photowall-paper can be different - on a solid wall, corner, around a window. Still, the most effective location will be on a wide wall with a minimum amount of furniture that overlaps the picture and can ruin the whole picture.

Corner placement requires neatness. Massive wallpaper overloaded with a pattern can visually reduce the room, but the minimalism of the image, on the contrary, can expand.

If the wallpaper occupies a small space in the form of a strip, then an interesting solution would be to place a mirror opposite: the room will acquire volume, and its space will visually become larger. If the wallpaper is small, then you can limit yourself to the space above the workplace or the head of the bed.

It is better to place dark wallpaper in front of a natural light source - a window, a doorway. Light ones are suitable for lightening dark corners with insufficient lighting.

For those who like to surprise, there is another interesting location option - the ceiling. But here you should be careful and not overdo it. The image can either move from ceiling to wall, or be completely located on the ceiling.

Tips

  1. Combine photomurals with the main wallpaper in the room, excessive variegation is also not welcome, the teenager will get tired.
  2. Consider the size of the room. Dark wallpaper will suit a large room. Large drawings also reduce space.
  3. Do not forget that the wall under the wallpaper should be flat so as not to distort or spoil the picture.
  4. Don't go overboard with the number of images if it's a collage. And designers are advised to limit ourselves to one image option.
  5. Wallpaper for a teenager is self-expression. Give up children's cars and flowers, choose a modern interior design that matches the age of the child. Give up the age-old conservatism and classic interior design. Teenagers are modern and bright.
  6. Blue, green, gray, orange tones are suitable for the boy's room. With age, the color scheme should change to austere and laconic, from warm to cold colors. It is important to consider how this or that color affects the child.
  7. The boy's room should be practical, because you have a man growing up, which means that the coating should be dense and durable.
  8. Photo wallpaper should stylistically match the interior of the room, for example, if the theme is marine, then choose a map, but if it is a loft and avant-garde style, then a textured image, cityscapes will do.
  9. Leave the choice of coverage and design to your child. If he cannot decide or chooses something too extraordinary, try to unobtrusively explain to him and suggest what suits him in style. If it is difficult to make a choice, then stop on neutral topics.

The main thing in the selection of wallpaper is your child's preferences. Let him choose the desired design and color scheme, you just guide him.

With photomurals, the child's room will be original and will definitely become his favorite refuge and place to rest.
