Lesson with a child: applications with stickers for the little ones

Classic applique is the process of creating designs by gluing colored paper shapes using glue and scissors. Such an activity is very useful for a child, but is not yet available for babies under 3 years old, as it requires perseverance and certain skills. You can teach your child to work with paper using stationery stickers.

Features of working with stickers

Stickers are blocks of paper leaves of various colors and shapes: rectangular, square, round, in the shape of flowers, leaves, hearts, palms, etc. The sheets are partially coated with glue, so they are easily attached to the base. If it is difficult for the baby to separate the stickers among themselves, separate the leaves in advance and attach them to the edge of the table.

Applique with stickers can be practiced starting from one year old due to the following features:

  • safety - no small parts, as well as the need to use glue and scissors;
  • simplicity - it takes no more than 15 minutes to create an application. During this time, the baby does not have time to get bored. Simple stories created with stickers are understandable and interesting even for the smallest;
  • functionality - stickers can be attached not only to paper, but also to wallpaper, mirrors, furniture doors and other flat surfaces. This property allows you to add variety to developing activities with your child. Besides, stickers can be used several times, easily "disassembling" the picture.

Applications with rectangular stickers

In addition to the stickers themselves, you will need a sheet of white paper or whatman paper for application. To make the task clear and interesting for the kid, prepare in advance the plot drawings on which the stickers will be glued. As a basis, you can use coloring drawings or ready-made illustrations in books.

  • "Laundry"

Draw two horizontal lines on the sheet to represent the clothesline. The child should hang colorful stickers on them, symbolizing the washed laundry.

  • "Handkerchiefs"

Draw funny people on paper and invite the kid to give them colored handkerchiefs. For this, you can use both rectangular and square blanks.

  • "Grass"

The plot - the basis for the application with stripes of green stickers can be a forest clearing with mushrooms or a lawn on which a cow grazes. Invite your child to decorate the drawing with fluffy grass.

  • "Striped cat"

Draw or paste the finished image of a cat on a Whatman paper. The larger the drawing, the more comfortable it will be for the baby to work with it. You can stick a mustache on a cat, make him a striped color or thick coat.

  • "The hairdresser"

The head of the man is taken as the basis. Draw his eyes, nose, mouth to make a funny face. The child should do his hair with the sticker strips.

  • "Sun"

Using a compass or any round object, draw a circle on the paper. To make the drawing more fun, draw his facial features. The stripes of yellow sticker will represent the sun's rays.

  • "Hedgehog"

Make a large drawing of a hedgehog on paper and ask your baby to dress him in a “fur coat” made of needles. You can stick green grass under the hedgehog's feet.

Appliques with curly stickers

You can cut any figures out of multi-colored stickers. To do this, draw a stencil on a stack of 5-6 leaves and cut out a shape along it. Try to keep the maximum amount of glue on it.

  • "Starry sky"

Cut out the yellow stars. Draw a moon on a piece of dark blue or purple paper. Let the child glue the stars, creating a picture of the starry sky.

  • "Rain"

Draw a cloud based on the applique and cut out blue or blue droplets. Stick on the falling raindrops with your child. Demonstrate how the grass grows well after the rain by gluing green stripes on the bottom of the Whatman paper.

  • "Apple tree"

Make apple blanks from yellow, red or pink stickers. Draw a large tree. The kid should hang apples on the branches.

  • "Vase with sweets"

Cut out candy shapes from colorful stickers and draw an image of a vase on a Whatman paper. The child's task is to put the candies in a vase. You can complicate the task by drawing several vases and asking the kid to arrange the candies by color. For example, in one vase - yellow, in another - red, etc.

When the child acquires the first skills in working with stickers, create complex pictures with him, consisting of 2-4 separate parts. The number of images that can be laid out using this material is limited only by your imagination.
