Children's plates: variety of types and selection criteria

One of the important and responsible decisions that sooner or later each person needs to make is to become parents. The birth of a child is the most wonderful thing that can happen in the life of every woman. But you need to prepare very carefully for the birth of a baby. Despite the fact that he is small and does not know how to do anything, the child needs many things, and, of course, with growing up, the needs will only increase.

When it comes to dishes for a child, it is worth noting that from the first days of life he needs a bottle from which he can drink breast milk, water and a little later eat semolina. When the baby grows, the number of utensils that he needs increases: he will definitely need a drinker - a sippy cup, spoon, fork, cup and saucer and, of course, a plate. The child must have her own, the most beautiful with pictures.

Kinds

The choice and assortment of such plates in the modern market for children's goods is huge. They can be very different and differ both in appearance and in composition and manufacturer.

It is worth considering in more detail which plates for children are presented to choose from today, and which ones are in the greatest demand.

Below are the options for such plates for children.

  • Suction cup... This is the best option for feeding your baby. At the bottom of such dishes there is a vacuum suction cup, thanks to which it does not slip on the table surface. You do not need to press on the plate to fix it - it adheres perfectly to the table itself under the weight of the contents. Most often, these products are made of silicone. They are non-slip, anti-scratch and safe for the baby.

  • Non-spill for children... This is a very popular option, it is also called a tumbler. Such a plate is comfortable, light, and its basis is a design, thanks to which the contents do not pour out or spill out.

  • Delimited... It has sections for separating food and is great for older children who can eat, for example, buckwheat porridge and cutlet. In one division of the plate, you can pour porridge, and in the second - salad or meat, that is, what the child likes to eat.

  • Heated... Such a device is a real hit of sales. Ideal for toddlers who prefer long meals and are in no rush. It is in order to keep food warm, and they use a heated plate. A feature of this know-how is the presence of an additional compartment into which hot water is poured - it is thanks to it that the food remains warm for a long time.

In addition to the above types of dishes, a separate soup plate must be available.

It is small in diameter, but deep (holds 250 ml), designed especially for children who are already taking their first courses in full swing. You can also buy a set for your child, which will include both a plate and a spoon and fork. You can also find sets with a rug on sale.

How to choose?

Absolutely every thing that a child comes into contact with, if he is still small, must comply with quality certificates. When choosing dishes for your child, you need to take into account many different factors and criteria.

Below are the positions that need to be emphasized when choosing a plate for a small toddler.

  • Safety - the dishes should not harm the baby's health. For this reason, when choosing, you need to pay attention to the material of manufacture, the availability of quality certificates. The plate should not contain and release toxic substances when heated. It is categorically not recommended to save on children's dishes.
  • Convenience and practicality... These criteria are also quite important. The kid will want to independently move or move the plate - this should be given to him with ease.
  • Durability and reliability... You need to be prepared for the fact that the children's plate will very often end up on the floor - this is an axiom that does not need to be proved. These qualities are what you need to take care of when buying cookware.
  • Attractiveness, interesting design... This is most likely a psychological move so that the baby does not refuse to eat. The dishes should be pleasant to the kid, not "boring". If the child has favorite animals or cartoon characters, then you should take care of buying dishes with their image.
  • Seller reliability... When choosing a children's plate, you should not buy the cheapest and most affordable option. It is better to give preference to a reliable and high-quality seller, even if his products are more expensive than their counterparts.
  • Integrity of the entire surface... Be sure to make sure before buying that the product is intact, there are no scratches, chips or damage on it.

Material

Children's tableware is made from several materials. Most often it is unbreakable plastic, it can be soft and hard (silicone or elastomer, polypropylene).

Experts say that the safest material for making baby plates is silicone. Dishes made from it are the most preferred by parents.

Porcelain or faience can also be used - they are considered environmentally friendly. Even if the dishes made of these materials break, the baby cannot be injured by the fragments.

Enamel children's plates are on sale. But they, like ceramics, are not very popular and are child-friendly.

It should be noted that in case of damage to the enamelled surface, such dishes can no longer be used.

Correct care

The health and well-being of the baby greatly depends on the proper care of the baby's plate.

It is very important to adhere to the following recommendations:

  • the child is the master of his plate;
  • before you put food and offer the child to eat from the plate, it is necessary to wash it thoroughly and preferably not to use chemical detergents;
  • the children's plate should dry naturally - no need to wipe and dry it;
  • you need to make it a rule to degrease children's dishes at least once a week - for this it will be enough to boil it;
  • keep children's plates separate from adults.

Adhering to these tips, you can be completely calm about the health of the child and not worry about the fact that the plate from which he eats can harm. And, of course, beautiful dishes will contribute to the baby's desire to eat and not be capricious.
