Bacteriophage "Intesty" for children: instructions for use

Bacteriophages are often prescribed for various infectious diseases or for their prevention, because such agents act directly on harmful microorganisms and can be used in children of any age. One of them is Intesty-bacteriophage. This drug includes several pathogens at once, therefore it is widely used for intestinal and other infections.

Release form and composition

Intesti-bacteriophage is a yellow solution, but a greenish tint is also possible. This liquid is completely transparent and placed in glass bottles. One bottle can contain 20 ml of solution, and the box contains 4 or 10 bottles. They also produce larger bottles containing 100 milliliters of medicine each - such "Intesty" is sold only in one bottle.

The drug contains a mixture of filtered sterile bacterial phagolysates. This is the name for microbial cells dissolved by bacteriophages, which are in a nutrient medium together with particles of bacteriophages - viruses that selectively destroy certain bacteria.

This mixture contains lysates of Shigella, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Proteus, Staphylococcus, Enterococcus and Pseudomonas. A more detailed list of bacteria can be found on the Intesty package. The only auxiliary ingredient in the medicine is the preservative quinosol.

Operating principle

Phagolysates contained in Intesty-Bacteriophage are capable of destroying pathogenic bacteria of the same species and strains, that is, Salmonella, Enterococci, Shigella and other microbes that were used to make the solution.

In this case, first, an analysis of the sensitivity of the pathogen is carried out to make sure that the bacteriophage will act on it. Some doctors also prescribe nasal drip.
