Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Pregnancy Indicator

The digital pregnancy test is the latest advance in science and technology. It is considered the most accurate and informative, but is it really so, what are the features of the Clearblue digital test and whether it has analogues, this article will tell.

Reference

Clearblue digital is the only test in the world today that, firstly, is reusable, and secondly, it can not only determine whether there is a pregnancy or not, but also suggest its approximate timing.

Such a miracle of technology is produced in the UK by SPD Swiss Precision Diagnostics GmbH. The first such test was released in 2008.

How does it work?

The electronic test works in the same way as everyone else - from a simple strip to a cassette model. It shows if a woman has a specific hCG hormone in her urine... About a week after ovulation, provided that conception has taken place, the embryo is implanted. Once your baby is attached to the uterine cavity, the villi on the outside of the ovum begin to produce chorionic gonadotropin. And its number doubles every two days. There comes a time when the hormone molecules begin to be excreted by the kidneys.

The hormone appears in the urine a little later than in the blood plasma, but already before the delay, high-precision test systems can recognize the presence of a substance in urine.

The digital pregnancy indicator test has two sensitive sensors. The first, in fact, determines the presence of hCG or its absence. And the second is activated when the first is positive. Based on the amount of hormone, the second sensor correlates the data with the average and indicates the gestational age in weeks.

The test sensitivity is 25 mIU / ml. Its use is recommended from the first day of the missed period, but many have used it successfully even before the missed period and get positive results.

The main advantage is no second or questionable stripes. You receive the answer with the words "Pregnant" or "Not pregnant", and the indication of the term will show 1-2, 2-3 or 3 plus. The accuracy is about 99%, and the timing accuracy is slightly lower - 95%.

Instructions for use

Using such a device is simple. You need to enable it and check if the test is working. He will tell it himself, you just need to wait a little. When you receive a signal that the device is ready, remove the cap from the cartridge tip and bring it under the stream of urine during urination for 5 seconds. If it is convenient for you to do the test not by the jet method, but in the old fashioned way, then lower the tip into the sample of urine collected in advance for 15-20 seconds.

Make sure that no liquid gets on the case, otherwise the device may be damaged.

The tip will get wet and turn pink. This is normal and intended. Then you should put the cap on it again. An hourglass appears on the display. Their appearance is a signal that the device is analyzing the received data.

During the waiting period, the test can be placed flat on a horizontal dry surface. You can hold it in your hands, but only so that the tip is not pointing up. While the "watch" is spinning, you should not turn off, shake, or drop the device. The result usually appears after 3 minutes. After the answer is displayed, it is stored in the device's memory for 24 hours.

If you plan to carry out the test again, then you need to immediately remove the used and turned pink tip and insert a new one - there are 20 of them in the set of the reusable diagnostic system. The same cartridge is not suitable for reuse.

How much is?

An indication test that can be used early in pregnancy is not cheap. But its quality, by and large, corresponds to the price. The cost starts from 390 rubles.

Tips and Feedback

In order for the results to be as accurate as possible, you must strictly follow the instructions attached to the device. It is simple, understandable, written in Russian and usually does not raise any questions. The expiration date does not apply to the device itself, but it does apply to replacement tips. Make sure it is valid, as expired cartridges may give incorrect results due to natural changes in the composition of the reagent.

Otherwise, the recommendations are pretty universal.

  • If you are testing early, before the delay occurs, use the morning urine sample - it is the densest and most concentrated, and contains the maximum amount of active substances. After 3-4 days of delay, the examination can be carried out at any time of the day.
  • Avoid large amounts of fluid before testing.
  • Calculate your menstrual cycle correctly, use calculators if necessary. Earlier than 3 days before the delay, the test should not be done - the concentration of the desired substance may be insufficient to obtain an objective answer.
  • Remember that any test, even the most modern and expensive, does not provide a 100% guarantee of an accurate diagnosis. To check the data, go to the clinic and do a blood test for hCG.

The accuracy of the data obtained with this model of the diagnostic system is not affected by the medications you may be taking in the current period of time. Alcohol, food and other circumstances also do not affect the result.

The only exception is hCG preparations. As a rule, they are used for drug stimulation of ovulation or in the IVF protocol before ovarian puncture. After such therapy, tests are ineffective. Need a blood test and confirmation by ultrasound diagnostics.

According to women, the test is quite accurate, but, like any other, it can fail, sometimes showing errors, for example, if the result is negative, a period in weeks may suddenly appear. Reset data and repeat the survey.
