Karmolis for children: instructions for use

Karmolis herbal preparations have established themselves as effective and safe means, therefore, there are many good reviews about their use in adults. But can such phytopreparations be used in childhood and how do they affect the child's body?

Release form and composition

Karmolis is produced in the following forms:

  • Drops. This liquid medicine contains essential oils from mint, sage, lavender, clove, lemon and other plants. Since the solution is water-alcoholic, it is contraindicated under the age of 18.
  • Lollipops. They also contain essential oils of various medicinal plants. At the same time, they are assigned to children, since in the line of Karmolis candies there are children's candies with natural honey that contain vitamin C. They can be given from the age of 6. In addition, lollipops are available in cherry, orange and lemon balm flavors.
  • Fitogel. The basis of this remedy for children is mint, sage, clove and chamomile oils. To them is added propolis tincture, and the sweet taste of the drug is provided by xylitol. One tube contains 20 g of gel, and its average price in pharmacies is 300 rubles.
  • Topical liquid and gel. Such forms of Karmolis for external treatment are prescribed from the age of 12. Their composition includes oils of pine, eucalyptus, nutmeg, thyme, mint and other plants, as well as menthol, methyl salicylate and camphor.
  • Cooling spray. Such Karmolis based on mint oil can be used for local skin treatment at any age.

How does it work and when is it applied?

  • Baby candies Karmolis have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects. Also, such a sweet herbal remedy has an antiviral and slight sedative effect. Such effects are in demand for flu, colds and SARS. The drug is used not only for the treatment of these diseases, but also for prophylactic purposes in the cold season.
  • Fitogel Karmolis is intended for the treatment of teeth and gums of babies during teething of milk teeth. This product has a calming and cooling effect. Moreover, it does not harm the enamel and does not provoke the development of caries.
  • The spray is used for injuries, edema and bruises, as well as after insect bites. Such a remedy reduces soreness, reduces swelling, soothes itching and helps in combating the inflammatory response of the skin.
  • External forms such as gel and liquid have a warming effect. After treating the injured or inflamed area, they enhance microcirculation and exhibit a local anesthetic effect. They are used for muscle and joint pain, neuralgia, as well as for injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The liquid is also used for massage, therapeutic baths and other physiotherapy.

Contraindications

Karmolis cannot be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of the components of the selected form of the drug. Local remedies are not used for bleeding and open wounds, as well as for skin diseases. In addition, local forms of Karmolis are contraindicated in case of impaired renal function, and lozenges should not be given in case of carbohydrate metabolism disorders. The use of the gel for bronchial asthma requires caution.

Side effects

At the site of application of the liquid or gel, an allergic reaction in the form of itching or redness of the skin may occur. Lollipops and phytogel, due to the content of plant components, can also provoke allergies.

Instructions for use

  • Children's phytogel is gently rubbed into reddened and irritated gums. For one treatment, use a strip of gel 2-3 cm long. The procedure can be repeated up to three times a day with an interval of 30 minutes. It is best to rub in the drug before bedtime, and during the day, the treatment is carried out after meals.
  • Gel or liquid Karmolis treat the painful area up to five times a day. After application, the product is rubbed in with massage movements. The duration of use is up to 3 weeks.
  • The spray is sprayed from a distance of at least 15 centimeters from 1 to 3 times a day.
  • Lollipops are given to children over 6 years old, both for acute respiratory viral infections or colds, and for prophylaxis, offering to dissolve them 1 piece in the mouth. The maximum allowable number of lollipops per day for a child 6-7 years old is 4 pieces, for children 7-11 years old - 5 pieces, and for teenagers over 12 years old - 6 pieces. The recommended duration of this supplement is 2 weeks.
