How to store tubing in summer and how to properly deflate it?

Winter in our country lasts quite a long time, in some regions - up to six months, so winter sports and entertainment are becoming more and more popular. If earlier children preferred tobogganing downhill, now this place is firmly occupied by tubing. Tubing in winter is a lot of fun for both adults and children. It is a versatile sport that suits everyone. Moreover, it is much less dangerous than skiing or ice skating.

However, if in winter tubing brings a lot of positive emotions when riding, then in the summer the question of storing the camera arises, because its further service life depends on it. It is easy to properly and quickly lower the tubing at home. This article will tell you how to do this.

Design features

The storage process of the inflatable sled is quite simple, since the structure does not have large solid parts. The tubing consists of a camera and a cover. The camera is usually made of durable rubber and the cover is made of PVC.

The cover is sewn from separate parts, fastened with strong nylon threads. Since the construction of the sled is made of particularly durable materials, it is not afraid of fluctuations in temperature and humidity during storage. The sled is resistant to various types of precipitation, whether it be rain or snow, but it is still better to store it in a dry place.

Storage conditions

When preparing the tubing for storage, remove all debris from it and rinse off the dirt accumulated over the winter so that the rubber does not deteriorate. Then you should degrease, rinse and dry the sled cover. The camera and cover should be washed with plain water and a non-aggressive detergent (soap can be used). All these actions will help to extend the life of the item.

If there are holes, small cuts and cracks, they need to be sealed or patched. For repairs, you can use a special glue designed for rubber and PVC. Patches should be glued from the inside of the product.

The "cheesecake" itself must be blown off for skiing on the snow. In this form, the tubing takes up much less space. You can blow off the sled without a pump. This is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. This requires any thin, sharp object. You can use a needle, knitting needle, rod, or match.

You need to insert this sharp object into the hole in the valve of the sled and press a little on the camera. During the compression process, air will gradually escape and the chamber will begin to deflate a little. After deflating your camera, you must carefully roll it up and place it in your bag for summer storage. The cap for inflating the "cheesecake" must be put into the box so as not to lose it.

Store the tubing in a dark and dry place (this could be a garage, storage room, or other place). In the folded state, the "cheesecake" will not interfere. You can store the product on the balcony, but it is worth considering that it is better not to expose the tubing and its cover to direct sunlight, since the material is sensitive to ultraviolet light. Capron threads become thinner when they come into contact with the sun's rays, their strength becomes lower, and the rubber cracks. As a result, a hole may appear in the material at the most inopportune moment, and the sled may simply deflate.

Store the tubing cover separately. One of the main disadvantages of long-term use and storage is the darkening (less often - complete abrasion) of the bright colors of the cover. During operation, the paint cracks, wears off or simply fades. To preserve the juiciness of the color, the cover should be placed in a bag that is tightly closed during storage (due to its tightness, condensation drops do not appear in the bag, which has a bad effect on the quality of the product).

Thanks to proper storage, the tubing will easily "survive" the summer, and next winter it will again delight its owners.
