Ovariamin when planning pregnancy: instructions for use

In preparation for conception, a woman may be advised to take vitamins. In some cases, hormonal drugs are required to make conception possible. And quite often recently the fair sex, dreaming of getting pregnant, receive a recommendation to take "Ovariamin". In this material, we will tell you what this drug is, how justified its prescription is and how to take these pills at the stage of planning an "interesting situation".

What it is?

The drug "Ovariamin" is called an amazing development of scientists from Russia. The tool is produced by a company from St. Petersburg, which positions itself as a partner of the Military Medical Academy and the Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. The remedy was originally developed as one of those that increase the duration and quality of human life.

It was not possible to lengthen life convincingly, but scientists drew attention to a certain "side effect" - Ovariamin has a positive effect on women's reproductive health.

The product received state registration, the manufacturers took care of voluntary certification. However, the drug "Ovariamin" was not recognized due to the lack of clinical trials and a convincing evidence base on its effectiveness. therefore the official status of the drug is dietary supplement (biologically active food supplement).

This fact is reflected on the manufacturer's website; the official instructions also indicate that the product should be used only as a dietary supplement.

Composition and principle of action

Ovariamin belongs to the cytamine class. Under the general name, preparations are combined, obtained from tissues and organs of animals, which are complexes of active substances with targeted action. In particular, this drug is obtained from the ovaries of female cattle.

Manufacturers claim that the extract from the gonads of cows has a very beneficial effect on the work of the gonads of women. In particular, the peptide complex helps to maintain the function of the ovaries, both in diseases of the gynecological plan, and in functional disorders associated with operations or taking hormones.

The manufacturing company assures that its products help with dysfunction of the gonads, with an irregular cycle, with frequent anovulatory cycles. The destroyed cellular interaction, according to the instructions, is restored thanks to all the same peptides. Since they act exclusively in a certain direction (liver peptides - on a diseased liver, stomach peptides - on a similar organ), the peptides obtained from the ovaries of cows, the developers say, affect the cells of a woman's ovaries, strengthening healthy and healing diseased organs.

Is this really so, history is silent, because Evidence-based medicine is not obvious. Nevertheless, the drug finds its "fans". Each tablet contains 0.01 g of cytamine, as well as vitamins A, B, E, PP and some amino acids.

Indications for use

The manufacturers of the drug do not say anything specific about the pregnancy planning period. In any case, the official instructions for the dietary supplement indicate that taking "Ovariamin" is recommended for:

  • ovarian wasting and dysfunction;
  • irregular menstrual cycles;
  • anovulatory cycles;
  • menopause;
  • inflammation of the ovaries.

In practice, the supplement is often prescribed in preparation for in vitro fertilization, while it is used not as an independent agent, but as part of complex therapy.

Sometimes the remedy is recommended for women who are planning a natural conception, however, provided that at the moment they are not breastfeeding and they are not allergic to the natural components of Ovariamin.

Instructions for use

Annotation to the drug, like any description of a dietary supplement, contains many sci-fi theses, and at the same time, specific data on the action, dosage and overdose are minimally presented. Therefore, when prescribing Ovariamin, the scope for action is large. Manufacturers give a wide range of dosages - from 1 to 9 tablets per day. How much to take, it is understood that the doctor will tell you. Unfortunately, some ladies who dream of a baby buy this dietary supplement without the knowledge of health workers, but only on the basis of reviews and recommendations on the Internet.

It is very dangerous because even the most "pure and safe" dietary supplement can cause undesirable consequences. When prescribed by a doctor, the dosage regimen for a bioregulator is usually the same as for most medicines aimed at improving and stimulating ovulation. Since the manufacturers have not indicated the exact period and dose, by default it is considered reasonable to start taking dietary supplements from 5-6 days of the cycle (as the period ends) and continue it until ovulation (up to 14-16 days of the menstrual cycle).

There is no reasonable need for the drug in the second half of the cycle.

Regarding the dosage for a woman who wants to take this supplement, after all you should consult your doctor. When planning a pregnancy, it is usually recommended to take the remedy 2-3 times a day, 1-3 tablets 10 minutes before meals. Manufacturers indicate that the duration of the course is 10-14 days, which roughly corresponds to the duration of the first phase of the menstrual cycle, preceding ovulation.

Is it effective?

Many women who are faced with the impossibility of conceiving are ready to give any money for any drug that even just promises to improve fertility. That is why the sales charts for Ovariamin (not cheap at all, by the way) are steadily growing up.

The product is sold, appointed by gynecologists in antenatal clinics, obviously, having their own percentage of sales, since the production of the drug is in the hands of a private company, and the sale often takes place not only through the pharmacy chain, but also in the company's specialized stores.

Women, for whom dietary supplements are not just pills, but hope for the future, are interested in how effective this remedy is. The manufacturers themselves do not give a concrete answer to this question. They provide two certificates on their website, which do not speak about the effectiveness, but only indicate the safety of using "Ovariamin".

In some sources, you can find data on clinical trials of the drug, but such data do not officially exist. The medical institutions that conducted the tests, the number of groups of subjects and the scientifically defended conclusions about the experiment remain unknown.

In this way, the drug cannot be considered effective. But in most cases he does not harm, and this is what his entire advertising campaign is based on. If a woman believes that peptides will help her, no one bothers to try.

From the point of view of official medicine, a drug is not considered effective if there is no result for 3 courses of treatment.

If a woman has time while planning, she can drink Ovariamin in consultation with her doctor. However, if IVF is about to be lost and time should not be lost, just as one should not allow even the slightest possibility of an allergic reaction to something before embryo transfer, then experts do not advise spending precious weeks on taking a drug with unproven effectiveness.

Situations when planning a pregnancy can be different. So, many experts in the field of obstetrics and gynecology tend to believe that this dietary supplement will not be of any benefit if a woman's infertility is associated with adnexitis, fibroids, changes in the structures of the mammary glands, changes in the level of female sex hormones.

Reviews

Women are actively discussing this drug in pregnancy planning forums. In this case, more questions arise than answers, and this is quite natural, because manufacturers neither in the instructions nor on their website give specific answers to them.

In search of constructive reviews about Ovariamin, you can revise dozens of sites, most of them come across so-called "paid" reviews, which are purely advertising in nature. They describe how quickly the drug helped to get pregnant, how surprised the doctors were at an ultrasound scan and in consultation, when the functions of the dying ovaries were restored literally in 1-2 courses.

The actual reviews are not so optimistic. They have more questions than answers, so it is very difficult to reliably find out what exactly influenced the onset of pregnancy in positive cases - this dietary supplement or the rest of the treatment, which included it as one of many components, is very difficult. Many indicate that 2-3 courses of the drug did not bring the desired result.

Many women point out that it is almost impossible to buy Ovariamin in pharmacies; official pharmacy chains are reluctant to accept supplements with unproven effectiveness for sale.

Most women emphasize that the drug had to be bought on the Internet at the manufacturer's website or through representatives of the company with delivery.

The doctors' comments on the drug are ambiguous. In their assessments doctors try to talk about dietary supplements with caution, and Ovariamin is no exception. Some experts are categorically against this dietary supplement, citing the lack of data and a clear scientific base on the true effects of the drug.
