Wall mural "World Map" for children is an informative and entertaining design element. This is the first impetus to get to know the world around you and the desire to set goals for yourself. After all, it has long been known that maps were the main element of the interior of sailors and travelers, invaders and pirates.

  • With two hemispheres. They can display both a modern picture of the world and a historical one. They can have different colors. For children, this map is an interesting option for getting to know the geographic concept of the "hemisphere".

  • Political. Attracting attention due to the colorful image of the countries. It has two variations - expanded and with hemispheres. Often found in adolescent rooms.

  • Modernist. Such a map usually does not carry a lot of scientific knowledge, but it contains the outlines and names of large countries and objects, and the geopolitical situation. For the most part, such a card is really a decoration in the interior.
  • Hybrid. The map combines different types of maps, one corner can be a political map, the other a nautical map, the third a modernist one. Wall murals look bright and lively, undoubtedly attracting attention and becoming a "highlight" of the interior.

  • With inscriptions. Such a map of the world is represented by inscriptions with the names of countries at their location. Looks stylish and youthful. The inscriptions can be monochromatic or full of different shades, it all depends on the interior of your room.

  • Satellite. Satellite photo maps. Children love it when this card has a fluorescent coating and "comes to life" at night, sparkling with city lights.

  • Large. This view shows large geographical points - countries, continents, oceans.

Materials

  1. Paper. Economy option. Despite this, the pattern on them is bright, but they fade faster. And when gluing, you need to be very careful so that the thin paper does not tear and does not stretch from the glue.
  2. Vinyl. Dense in structure. They can be wiped clean, but they are not breathable.
  3. Laminated. Eco-friendly and waterproof. They have a special protective film, thanks to which they are wear-resistant and do not fade. This type is perfect for a nursery to cope with children's pranks and fun.
  4. Woven. They are a canvas. Quite expensive, but high quality wallpaper. They do not tolerate wet cleaning, which makes them not the best option for a children's room.
  5. 3D. Wallpaper with realistic and three-dimensional patterns is an important quality for children's imagination. They can be colored. But their price is quite high.

The texture of the wallpaper may also differ:

  • Glossy - shiny and smooth, these include vinyl and laminated wallpaper;
  • Matte - have a paper base and wear out quickly;
  • Structural - 3d and woven wallpaper. They repeat the structure of various materials: sand, stone, brick, canvas and others. They help to develop fine motor skills of the child well.

Where to place

Wall murals in the room are the accent of the interior, therefore they are placed on an empty free wall.

If none was found, then there are other options:

  • over the head of the bed;
  • Behind the bed;
  • over the desk;
  • in the corner, combining two walls.

The main thing during placement is not to clutter up the map, otherwise it will lose its intellectual load and remain only a decorative item in the room.

Tips

  • If the card is bright, then do not overload the room with flowers, choose one neutral and calm color for both the remaining walls and furniture.
  • If the card is monochrome, for example, old or marine, then there are two solutions - bright contrasting wallpaper and wallpaper to match. You can dilute a one-color palette with bright elements - furniture, curtains.
  • Small-scale photowall-paper is decorated with a frame for accentuation.
  • The wall color can be continued with the main background shade of the map to create a single composition.
  • To visually expand the room, choose pastel-colored wallpaper.
  • Make your child's world map a travel destination and explore new countries. For greater effect, place chips on the wallpaper.
  • To create a single stylistic picture, add geographic objects to the interior - a globe, a compass or a boat in a bottle.
  • For a colorful political map, choose a repetitive bright element in the interior - curtains, carpet.
  • For a teenager, you can choose a combination of wallpapers and photo wallpapers that do not have names, but only the outlines of countries or continents.

The educational load of this beautiful interior design element is undoubtedly high. In the age of the computer and the Internet, children rarely burden themselves with memorizing information. The world map, constantly being in front of our eyes, makes it possible to remember the location of geographical objects. Children are happy to explore it, "traveling" and being interested in new places.
