Hexalysis for children: instructions for use

Dentists and ENT doctors often prescribe local agents that have antimicrobial and antiseptic effects, which include Hexalysis. Can this medication be used to treat children and what features of the drug should be taken into account?

Release form

The drug Hexaliz is a tablet for resorption. Their characteristics are round flat shape, lemon flavor and indistinct smell. Their color is orange-yellow, but there may be white or bright orange blotches. One pack contains 30 tablets.

Composition

Each tablet contains:

  • 5 mg biclotymol,
  • 5 mg enoxolone,
  • 5 mg of lysozyme in the form of hydrochloride.

These active ingredients are supplemented with lemon oil, magnesium stearate, sucrose, citric acid monohydrate and acacia gum. E110 dye is also present in the tablets.

Operating principle

Due to the multicomponent composition, Hexaliz belongs to the combined preparations:

  • Biclotymol has an antiseptic effect, as it is able to destroy various types of bacteria. The substance causes coagulation of protein molecules in microbial cells and acts in the oropharynx for a long time. Biclotymol also has anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Due to the presence of enoxolone, the drug lowers the sensitivity of the nerve endings in the mucous membrane, as a result of which pain in the pharynx and tonsils are reduced. In addition to the analgesic effect, this ingredient also has an anti-inflammatory effect.
  • Lysozyme is a natural factor that can protect the mucous membrane. It is normally produced in glandular cells and is a mucopolysaccharide. Lysozyme has antimicrobial activity, as well as antiviral effect. Such a component activates local immunity in the oropharynx, and also helps to neutralize and remove toxic substances.

Indications

Hexalysis is prescribed for inflammation and bacterial lesions of the mucous membrane of the pharynx, mouth or larynx.

The drug is recommended for:

  • Acute pharyngitis.
