What suppositories for hemorrhoids can be used during pregnancy?

Seven out of ten expectant mothers in the process of carrying a child are faced with an unpleasant and painful problem - hemorrhoids. The reasons may be different, but most often in the swelling and prolapse of the venous catch outside the anal sphincter, the growing uterus, which compresses the internal organs, disrupting the blood supply, is "guilty".

It is very difficult to treat hemorrhoids during pregnancy because not all medications can be used during pregnancy. In this article, we will tell you about how expectant mothers to choose rectal suppositories to get rid of a delicate problem.

Principles of treating hemorrhoids during pregnancy

Treatment of hemorrhoids in pregnant women is a difficult task. A lot of drugs have been developed and sold to get rid of an unpleasant ailment, but not all can be used by women in an "interesting position". Oddly enough it may sound, but the choice of medicine is a secondary task. First of all, the doctor prescribes a correction to the woman's habitual lifestyle. Without this, no candles and ointments will help.

The number one task is to make the right diet. Since excess weight and partial constipation contribute to the development of hemorrhoids, the diet should be light and not cause difficulties with defecation.

A pregnant woman suffering from hemorrhoids should not overeat, but for obvious reasons, one should not go hungry either. It is best to eat 5-6 times a day, in small portions, making up the diet so that each meal is balanced - it includes carbohydrates, fats, proteins and monosaccharides.

On the table of the expectant mother there should be plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, because the fiber they contain facilitates the elimination of feces. Foods such as prunes, honey, boiled beets, and beet juice are helpful.

An abundance of protein foods should not be allowed as it contributes to constipation - meat, fish, cottage cheese should be eaten just enough to meet the protein needs of the baby growing under the heart. An excess of these foods makes it difficult to defecate.

A pregnant woman should completely abandon fried and spicy foods, from eating any spices, from baking from yeast dough, muffins, factory sweets and chocolate. Also contraindicated are foods that increase the formation of intestinal gases - carbonated water, legumes and cabbage.

A woman should adhere to such a diet all the time remaining before the birth of a child in order to avoid recurrence of hemorrhoids.

In addition to nutrition, the treatment regimen includes well-designed and planned physical activity. Given the special position in which a woman is, you should not burden yourself with exercises in the gym, but you should also not sit on the couch with hemorrhoids.

A woman should introduce a rule - hike in the fresh air every day, do gymnastics, which will be aimed at strengthening the muscles of the anal sphincter and preventing failures in the blood supply to the lower veins, which include hemorrhoidal veins.

The third mandatory component of successful treatment of hemorrhoids during pregnancy is the correct approach to the process of defecation. You cannot use toilet paper. It is best to wash off with running water without using soap after each trip to the toilet.

It is important to ensure that the bowel movement takes place in "one step"... If it lasts more than five minutes, when a woman is sitting on the toilet waiting for a new wave of intestinal motility, then the blood supply to the hemorrhoidal veins is disrupted, and the situation may worsen. If at one time it was not possible to empty the intestines completely, you should leave the toilet and return there after thirty to forty minutes.

Enemas can also be included in the treatment regimen to combat constipation. But during pregnancy, traditional enemas with a large amount of liquid are undesirable; it is best to use microclysters, for example, "Microlax" or home microclysters with sea buckthorn oil. They allow you to quickly cope with constipation and have a local healing and anti-inflammatory effect.

Women who suffer from hemorrhoids during pregnancy often receive referrals for physiotherapy. In the polyclinic at the place of residence, they are given sessions of magnetotherapy, physiotherapy exercises. But surgical intervention during the waiting period for a child is rather a rarity, a necessity due to a severe form of hemorrhoids, massive anal bleeding, fallen out nodes that cannot be manually adjusted.

The treatment regimen also includes medications, both systemic, with a general venotonic and anti-inflammatory effect, and local - suppositories, ointments and gels.

Sometimes the therapy regimen consists of a combination of systemic and topical drugs.

In cases with small hemorrhoids of 1-2 degrees, it is possible to do only with local agents, provided that the woman strictly adheres to all other recommendations - adhere to proper nutrition, a mode of moderate but sufficient physical activity, do gymnastics, monitor bowel movements and attend physiotherapy procedures.

Local preparations

Topical drugs practically do not enter the systemic circulation, and therefore their effect on a growing baby is minimal. During pregnancy, topical antihemorrhoids are of two types - rectal suppositories and ointments (or gels).

They all possess anti-inflammatory action, many contain analgesic components, almost all have a wound-healing effect. Some drugs contain substances that can stop bleeding and strengthen blood vessels.

It is most difficult to find the right remedies for pregnant women who have symptoms of a delicate illness in the first trimester. Up to 14 weeks, it is undesirable to use medications in generaltherefore it is important that the chosen medicine is natural and has a minimum of side effects.

In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, the choice of drugs is much wider. In many pregnant women, the symptoms of hemorrhoids, which began during pregnancy, persist for some time after childbirth, and in some women, they intensify after childbirth, therefore, the issue of choosing suppositories for nursing mothers is also relevant.

There are also few such drugs. We have prepared a list of approved drugs for expectant mothers and women who have recently given birth. This information is for informational purposes only, the doctor should prescribe the medicine only.

"Ultraproject"

This drug is based on two active ingredients - fluocortolone and cinchocaine hydrochloride. Castor oil is used as an excipient. This medicinal product is available in both suppository and ointment form.

The ointment is squeezed directly into the rectum using your own fingers and the included applicator. Candles are introduced in the traditional way.

If a pregnant woman has multiple prolapse of venous nodes, it is recommended to first use an ointment, while carefully adjusting the nodes inward.

An overdose can occur only if a woman, for some reason, swallows a certain amount of rectal suppositories.

Negative reactions from the central nervous system can be caused by the anesthetic component of the drug, which is cinchocaine hydrochloride. Also contact with the eyes should be avoided.

"Hepatrombin G"

The drug contains heparin, prednisolone and lauromacrogol. The drug on the shelves of pharmacists exists in the form of an ointment and in the form of rectal suppositories.

During breastfeeding

The action of the candle lasts more than 12 hours, and therefore only one injection of one candle is recommended per day. With advanced hemorrhoids, you can use no more than 2 suppositories a day.

Side effects are allergic reactions to ichthyol, which are manifested most often by the appearance of a skin rash, local redness and a strong burning sensation in the anus. But this scenario is rather rare.

Suppositories are allowed for use at any stage of pregnancy, as well as after childbirth, since the active substance does not affect either the fetus or the child who is breastfeeding.

In addition to these suppositories, nursing mothers can use funds that are allowed in the first trimester - "Alginatol" and "Sea buckthorn".

Reviews

According to the reviews of future and successful mothers, it is rectal suppositories that are the most popular treatment for hemorrhoids while carrying a baby. They are easy to use and effective enough. Most often pregnant women choose "Natalsid" and "Relief", it is these drugs that are traditionally prescribed by doctors in the antenatal clinic.

These remedies help quickly, but in most pregnant women, hemorrhoids return over time, so experienced mothers are advised to always keep the pack of candles in the refrigerator.

It is also useful to have ready-made ice in the freezer, since it helps at the very initial stage to relieve itching and burning before using the candle or immediately after the administration of the drug.

The largest number of negative reviews about drugs such as "Ultraproject", according to pregnant women, pain and unpleasant loss of nodes after a course of treatment return in the second week and have to start all over again, and these combined drugs have a much wider list of side effects than "Sea buckthorn", "Ichthyol" and other natural candles.

Despite the effectiveness of suppositories, some after childbirth still had to agree to surgery, since childbirth aggravates the process.

Prophylaxis and related drugs

Prevention of exacerbation of hemorrhoids during pregnancy and its primary manifestation consists in maintaining a proper balanced diet, as well as a regime of sufficient mobility and activity.

A woman should walk, walk, do exercises, light, non-burdensome gymnastics. It is important to control weight gain, to prevent obesity. During pregnancy, you should be more careful about safety during anal sex, and it is better to cancel it altogether.

It is important to avoid prolonged constipation. Since this trouble often accompanies the state of pregnancy, you can use some drugs to prevent constipation and prevent the development of hemorrhoids:

"Glycerin"

These candles with glycerol have a laxative effect, and therefore they can be taken as prevention of constipation during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. They will not help from the onset of hemorrhoids, since they are effective only in liquefying and removing feces, but they may well supplement the standard treatment regimen with another drug.

It is best to enter them 15 minutes after breakfast. It usually takes 20-30 minutes to go to the toilet successfully. The use of the drug during pregnancy must be agreed with the treating doctor.

For the prevention of hemorrhoids and its treatment in the initial stages of pregnancy, the expectant mother can use effective and inexpensive rectal suppositories with calendula, papaverine, and propolis.
