Children's bed with a corner

The predominant part of the modern domestic housing stock was built even when residential areas were growing much slower than the population, so it is not surprising that most children's rooms cannot boast of spaciousness. This significantly complicates the task for parents who want to provide their child's bedroom with everything they need, but do not find enough space for this.

If there seem to be more corners in the room than even walls, you should pay attention to children's beds with a corner.

Benefits

Some parents are wary of beds with corners, preferring to hide the least needed pieces of furniture in the corners, or even not use them at all, so that the child is located in the center of the room, and not in the suburbs. In small children, such logic is completely inappropriate, especially since the baby as a whole does not care where to sleep - the more important is whether there is a place for active games. It is for him that the central part of the room should be released, and the combination of a bed with a corner in this situation is not only possible, but also logical, and here's why:

  • The combined set includes not only a sleeping place, but also other bonuses. Most often this is a desk or wardrobe, but some special play area, like a toy house, is also found. Usually, these components are not just located side by side, but at least partially hang over each other, being located in two tiers, so everything in one case takes up much less space than separate similar pieces of furniture.
  • Variety of functional models inextricably linked with a variety of design solutions. A children's bed with a corner without reference to a specific model is a universal thing, it will fit into any interior of each of the existing styles.
  • Manufacturers are well aware that more than half of the entire domestic living space has such dimensions, but the needs of its residents can be completely different, therefore produce children's beds with corners in different configuration options.

You can always choose an option that provides exactly as many amenities as you would like to get, and exactly those that you need. In addition, there is a choice between higher quality and durable furniture and cheaper goods.

Design options

There are as many varieties of children's corners with a sleeping place as there are really good designers all over the world, that is, many; this amount is essentially unlimited. However, there are several common form factors that are in steady demand from consumers, and therefore serve as the main source of inspiration for developers. These are models of the following types:

  • Corner wall. A wardrobe, adapted to be placed in a corner, today will not surprise anyone, but it is quite successfully combined with a sleeping place, which can be located both on its "roof" (loft bed), or be "inscribed" into the body when boxes are placed under the bed, above it, and along the edges.
  • Loft bed with table. Since school-age children definitely need a corner where they will learn their lessons or be creative, or even just sit at the computer, they cannot do without a table in the nursery - so why not combine it with the bed in the corner? Savings are achieved due to the fact that the table is located on the first tier, and the bed - on the second, although they are not necessarily located completely one above the other - the bed can lie against another wall, partially hanging over the table, and partially resting on the nightstand.
  • Bunk bed... If more than one child lives in a cramped nursery, then a bunk bed is simply a must. When we talk about a corner bunk bed, it is usually implied that the tiers in it are not located one above the other, but at an angle of 90 degrees to each other, that is, at the adjacent walls. In the corner, they partially intersect, the free half under the upper tier is most often equipped for a computer desk, while the open half of the wall above the lower floor is used for wall decorations like paintings or is simply occupied by a window.

Features of a sleeping corner for a student

Often, parents, when choosing a bed with a corner, prefer models with a table, because without it - nowhere, and if cabinets and bedside tables can be of various shapes and sizes, then the table separately always takes up quite a lot of space. Because of this, it is really very practical to combine it with a bed, but at the same time it is worth paying attention to a number of criteria:

  • Even an ordinary writing desk must have dimensions of at least one and a half meter and this is provided that there is no stationary computer on it; if available, the recommended tabletop size is increased by the area required to accommodate a PC.
  • To form correct posture the table top should be at the level of the elbows of the sitting childbut it is constantly growing, so you need to choose either a table with an adjustable height or a similar chair. In addition, it is very desirable that the product be equipped with drawers or shelves for textbooks and notebooks, otherwise you will have to constantly be distracted by going after them.
  • It is necessary to provide adequate lighting, which, according to the recommendations of psychologists, is ideally placed in the front left. Natural light from the window is perceived better, plus there is an opportunity to be distracted for a while and rest, but this same factor can cause complete deconcentration.

Which mattress is right?

Even the best bed will seem stupid if the mattress is poorly matched to it. For a child, it is better to choose models of medium rigidity that provide good support for the forming posture during sleep, high rigidity is also suitable and even provides a deeper and more restful sleep, but not everyone will find this solution comfortable.

But soft mattresses should not even be considered, since they are often the main cause of posture disorders in children.

A good mattress in size should correspond as closely as possible to the dimensions of the berth, not protrude or be too small. As for materials, it is better to give preference to natural raw materials such as coconut fiber or at least harmless classics such as foam rubber. Finally, do not grab onto any mattress called orthopedic - these are really very useful, but not all of them are, and such a label is hung on any handicraft for the sake of good trade.

How to choose?

With all the advantages described, even a children's bed with a corner can be a bad purchase if you buy it at random, without prior preparation. Use good advice for choosing a sensible product:

  • Don't go to the store for no reason. Firstly, measure how much space you are willing to allocate under the corner set. As a rule, such furniture is bought only for small rooms, and it itself is small in size, however, without a clear plan, you will either doubt about the size, or even buy something that in the end will not fit into the room.
  • Think over what else besides a bed do you want from a headset. If there is not enough space, additional options, even useful ones, in the form of storage boxes and roomy bedside tables, will be completely redundant, so focus only on what you really need.
  • Such furniture is usually purchased for children no younger than first graders, and those already have their own opinion. Don't pick a headset yourself - consult with your child, moreover, he must confirm the convenience of the chosen model.

Beautiful interiors

The first example is the most common variety, corner with table... It's amazing how much the creators were able to squeeze into this tiny body - there is a bed, a fairly spacious cabinet, and a comfortable computer desk. The manufacturer did not forget about the attractive design - the model is made in a calming green color.

If the child has a lot of things, and there is nowhere to place the closet, or it simply does not exist yet, you can buy two in one - bed and wardrobe... Such furniture takes up just a little more space than a regular bed, however, this model, for example, has seven drawers and four shelves, which gives hope to hide everything.

If there are two children, choose bunk bed, but not simple, but with tiers located at right angles. Under the free half of the upper tier there is a wardrobe typical in such cases, but the unoccupied space above the lower one was occupied by a window that would not have allowed any other piece of furniture to be placed there.
