Features of feeding infants with the mixture "Nestogen"

How to choose baby food for newborns?

To date, a large number of brands of infant formula are presented.

The main requirement for any milk formula is the composition as close as possible to breast milk.

What is the danger of overestimating the amount of nutrients in the mixture?

  • when protein is processed in the liver, nitrogenous compounds are released, which are normally excreted by the kidneys. If the amount of protein in the mixture is large, there will also be a lot of breakdown products. And the kidneys will not always remove everything from the body by 100%. In turn, protein breakdown products (nitrogenous wastes) adversely affect the development of the brain and nervous system;
  • a large amount of fat leads to consequences such as metabolic syndrome (obesity, arterial hypertension in adulthood);
  • if the mixture contains a large amount of carbohydrates, the body is programmed for the development of diabetes and other metabolic disorders.

Types of mixtures

There are two types of mixtures:

  • basic;
  • medicinal.

Basic are used in healthy children. Healing mixtures are administered when a child's health problem arises.

Only a doctor should select such a mixture, taking into account the characteristics of a small patient and his diagnosis, and for a certain period. It is impossible to constantly feed with a medicinal mixture.

Types of medicinal mixtures:

  • for premature babies (usually come with the prefix pre-);
  • antireflux (if there are problems with regurgitation);
  • fermented milk (for digestive disorders);
  • hypoallergenic (with mild allergic reactions);
  • amino acid (when there is a severe manifestation of allergies);
  • lactose-free and low-lactose mixtures, which are used for lactase deficiency, after suffering intestinal infections.

Power calculation

The dosage depends on the following factors:

  • the age of the child;
  • fully artificial feeding or mixed;
  • the weight of the child;
  • some physiological characteristics (for example, prematurity).

There are many formulas for calculating nutrition, but your doctor should be responsible for this and adjust the dose of the formula per feeding, taking into account all the features.

An important point is not to overfeed the child on the formula, which very often happens. The child begins to be capricious, and the mother, hoping that he will calm down, offers two feeding instead of one. It is not right.

Overfeeding your baby can lead to many health problems for your baby in the future. If your baby is very worried, it is best to see a doctor rather than suggesting excess formula feeding.

Nutrition with the mixture "Nestogen"

Why are many people advised to use the "Nestogen" mixture?

  1. It is highly adapted (the composition is close to mother's milk).
  2. Does not cause digestive problems (constipation, colic, regurgitation).
  3. Ensures regular bowel movements due to the presence of Prebio fibers and lactobacilli.

Consider the types of mixtures:

  1. The Nestogen-1 mixture is suitable for feeding healthy children from birth to 6 months. Contains natural dietary fiber Prebio (prebiotics) and lactobacillus L. reuteri to aid digestion, regular bowel movements and maturation of the digestive system. This has a beneficial effect on the microflora, reduces colic, regurgitation and minimizes discomfort in the baby. The composition of "Nestogen 1" also includes acids (linolenic, pantothenic, folic), maltose, whey proteins, vegetable fats, lactose, vitamins of all groups, trace elements. The blend is formulated without the use of genetically modified ingredients, colors, preservatives or fragrances.
  2. Mixture "Nestogen 2" for children 6 - 12 months. Contains dietary fiber Prebio (prebiotics) and lactobacillus L. reuteri. Contains a set of components with carbohydrates (17 g per liter) with an increased amount of lactose, whey, vitamins and minerals. The mixture is designed for the increased needs of the baby.
  3. Baby milk "Nestogen 3" and "Nestogen 4" are intended for children after 12 months and 18 months, respectively. They contain, in comparison with the previous mixtures, a greater amount of proteins, fats, carbohydrates. They have an increased amount of prebiotics, an enhanced complex of vitamins / minerals, which is important for full development in the second year of life.
  4. "Unestogen" low lactose from birth. This mixture is low in lactose. It can be used as the main food for children from birth in cases of lactase deficiency, as well as after an intestinal infection.

Mixing rules

  1. The bottle must be clean. To sterilize it or not is your choice (not all bacteria die during this process), but WHO recommends. But it is worth using special baby products for washing bottles. There should be no mixture from the previous feeding on the walls of the bottle.
  2. Always read the directions for use. It details how many measuring spoons are needed for feeding. You need to measure so that the spoon is flat.
  3. Use boiled water, cooled to 37 degrees Celsius. This temperature allows you to keep the living bacteria in the composition. There are mixtures that require a temperature above 37 degrees, the manufacturer indicates this in the instructions.
  4. First, pour water into the bottle, and only then add the mixture, and not vice versa. This will allow it to dissolve better and achieve the correct concentration of the mixture.
  5. Stir (shake) for at least 30 seconds until smooth without lumps. For mixtures such as "antireflux", for example, a small amount of lumps in the finished mixture are allowed, but they should not clog the teat.

It is recommended to store the ready-made formula for no more than 2 hours, but only if the child has not eaten from this bottle. The mixture itself is a very breeding ground for bacterial growth. Therefore, giving formula to your baby from the same bottle over time puts your baby at risk of developing an intestinal infection. To avoid such cases, adhere to the rule: each feeding - a clean bottle, a new mixture.

What if the mixture didn't work?

As with any mixture, an allergic reaction may occur to Nestogen. In this case, it is worth switching to a hypoallergenic mixture. For example, "Nutrilon Pepti-allergy" or "Nutrilon hypoallergenic".

You cannot switch from one mixture to another in one day!

Replace it gradually. To begin with, half the volume of the old mixture + half the volume of the new one. The next day - one feeding with a new mixture, the rest - with the old one. Until you completely switch to a new mixture. It is also prohibited to mix mixtures of two different brands in one bottle. Each mixture has its own bottle.

The ratio of price to quality of the mixture "Nestogen" is worthy. It easily replaces more expensive analogs of this company (NAS, Nutrilon). For example, “Nestogen 1” a package of 350 g in Russia costs from 270 rubles, and “Nutrilon 1” 400 g package costs from 390 rubles.

The availability of the Nestogen mixture is high. You can find it on the shelves in almost any supermarket and pharmacy chain.
