And now in more detail about the Nutrilon Comfort mixture.

Nutrilon Comfort and its types

The mixture is produced in 2 types: Nutrilon Comfort 1 (for children from 0 to 6 months) and Nutrilon Comfort 2 (from 6 to 12 months).

The Nutrilon Comfort mixture belongs to specialized therapeutic milk mixtures. Everyone knows that manifestations such as intestinal colic and constipation are characteristic of children from birth and during the first 2 to 3 months of life, since the intestines of newborns are not yet populated with the microflora necessary for normal digestion.

And normally, this settlement gradually occurs, but often the child's well-being can suffer at the same time. The baby is restless, his full sleep is disturbed, the mother worries about the baby, respectively, this anxiety is transmitted to the baby and a vicious circle is formed.

And each mother will do everything necessary to make the baby better, since the mother's diet and taking medications to relieve colic do not always cope. And it is in such situations that Nutrilon Comfort nutrition can help.

When cooking, you may encounter the appearance of grains in an already prepared mixture. You should not be afraid, this is a normal phenomenon associated with the content of a thickener in the mixture.

What's in the mix?

  1. Partially hydrolyzed (split) whey protein concentrate. The intestines of babies are characterized by a low content of the enzyme lactase, which is necessary for the processing of breast milk (lactose), and it is a large accumulation of undigested lactose that provokes colic and constipation. Since Nutrilon mixture contains not just whey, as in some other mixtures, but a partially hydrolyzed concentrate, this greatly facilitates the work of intestinal enzymes. This reduces the possibility of intestinal colic, constipation, diarrhea. It should be noted that due to the presence of hydrolysates, the mixture has a bitter taste, so parents should not be upset that the child may not immediately taste it, you need to have patience.
  2. Vegetable oil blend (rapeseed, coconut, sunflower, structured palm, Mortierella alpina)... Despite many myths that there should be no palm oil in infant formula, many pediatricians believe the opposite. Due to palm oil, the fat composition of the mixture becomes as close as possible to the fat composition of breast milk, and palmitic acid, which is rich in palm oil, provides the baby with sufficient energy and, in general, has a positive effect on the harmonious development of the baby. At Nutricia factories, palm oil is obtained from the pulp of the fruit of the oil palm, and then it undergoes multi-stage purification specifically for infant formula.
  3. Prebiotics (galactooligosugar, fructooligosugar). They are necessary for normal bowel function, stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria that are involved in the digestion of food, and remove harmful bacteria from the intestines. Often, on the way to maturation, babies grow in the intestines not entirely useful, the so-called conditionally pathogenic flora, a large amount of which also disrupts the normal process of digestion. One of these representatives is Klebsiella.
  4. Soy lecithin - a set of phospholipids... It is necessary for the normal maturation of the brain and cells of the nervous system.
  5. Nucleotides... Also promotes the growth of beneficial bifidobacteria. In addition, they are a building material for the cells of our body and have a positive effect on the development of nervous tissue and vision. They are necessary for all babies, especially premature babies.
  6. Glucose syrup.
  7. Starch (potato and corn).
  8. Lactose.
  9. Minerals. These include sodium, potassium, chlorides, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese, copper, selenium, iodine.
  10. Fish fat. Essential for the mental development of babies.
  11. L-tyrosine.Indispensable for the production of hormones and the normal functioning of the thyroid gland.
  12. Vitamin complex and trace elements.

Vitamins A, D3, E, K1, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, pantothenic acid (B5), niacin, folic acid, biotin, inositol, choline, L-carnitine, taurine.

It is important to note that taurine is an amino acid essential for proper maturation and functioning of the immune system. Breastfed babies receive taurine in breast milk.

Vitamin D is essential for normal bone growth and is usually prescribed for infants as a preventive measure. A child who is bottle-fed, in particular on the Nutrilon Comfort formula, may be advised to take additional vitamin D3.

The addition of palm oil and soy lecithin to infant formula is approved by the legislation of the Russian Federation and the Customs Union.

What are the differences between Nutrilon mixtures?

Nutrilon Comfort infant formula is balanced in terms of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and calories, corresponding to the age norms of the baby.

Nutrilon Comfort 2 differs from Nutrilon Comfort 1 by a higher protein, carbohydrate and lower fat content, which also corresponds to age standards.

Let's take any other mixture as an example and analyze its composition.

For example, Infaprim for children with digestive disorders offers Nutrilak Premium Antireflux mixture, which also comes in two types: Nutrilak 1 - from birth to 6 months and Nutrilak 2 - from 6 months to one year. The peculiarity of the composition of this Nutrilak mixture is the addition of locust bean gum.

The main property of gum is to eliminate or reduce regurgitation. But the main component here is demineralized milk whey, and not split concentrate, which, judging by the above, on the contrary, is recommended to be added to baby food for children with colic and constipation.

Palm oil in Nutrilak infant formula has been replaced by soybean oil, and as we already know, you should not be afraid of palm oil, because it, on the contrary, brings the composition of the formula closer to breast milk.

Nutrilak Premium Antireflux mixture does not contain prebiotics, which are so necessary for the colonization of the intestines with beneficial microflora as soon as possible. These are the biggest differences. A more detailed composition of the mixtures is presented in the form of tables on the official website of the Nutrilak and Nutrilon mixture.

The price of these mixtures differs slightly. But I would like to note the main thing. If the baby is forced to receive not mother's milk, but milk formula, then its composition should be as balanced and gentle as possible for small tummies. The Nutrilon Comfort blend meets this very request.
This mixture can be used both as a supplement to breast milk, and as the only mixture all the time.
