Types of pacifiers for a child - yes, they are also different

One of the must-have things for a child is a dummy. But which dummy should you choose, because there are so many of them?

Classic

They are also called daisies. Toddlers love these pacifiers because they are comfortable and easy to use, they are easy to grasp and will not fall out. However, some dentists believe that they can lead to a malocclusion in a child.

Anatomical

This type is approved by dentists, as they believe that the anatomical shape helps the formation of the correct bite in the child. A special feature is the shape that matches the shape of the gums and fits snugly against the tongue.

Orthodontic

They are very similar in shape to the anatomical ones, but their shape is more teardrop-shaped. They are divided into several types: for lying on the stomach, for children with a high palate, for a correct bite. This look can be purchased at almost any children's store.

Rubber

Rubber is the main material from which latex pacifiers are made. Such material is perfect for newborns and premature babies, as an older baby can easily chew on such a pacifier. The material is soft and sensitive to temperature, so it cannot be boiled or kept in the sun.

Silicone

A more reliable look than rubber. Silicone pacifiers can be processed by boiling and are more durable. Such material has no foreign odors and colors. Due to its elasticity, it does not deform the bite and baby teeth.

General guidelines for choosing a baby pacifier

Pacifiers are divided into age categories, so it is important to consider this point when buying, they should fit the baby in size. They should be changed to new ones every month - one and a half and do not delay it. They also need sterilization, this should be done as needed. Baby pacifiers must not be licked. The restrictor must have ventilation holes. The dummy must be made of high quality so that the child cannot disassemble it into parts and swallow any of the parts. It is better to do without a dummy at all than with a low-quality and potentially dangerous one.
