Planting a child: what is it, pros and cons, planting rules, photos and videos

Placing small children in a pot, in a sink or in a basin is done by mothers who adhere to the practice of "natural parenting". The goal is to teach your baby to relieve himself in a pot or basin from the first weeks of life. This is done to keep the child clean rather than to get the child used to the potty faster. Many people are skeptical about this method, but it still has its advantages.

Attention: the most common mistake of young mothers, which nullifies the planting method, is coercion. This is a gross mistake. Many mothers on the forums ask how you can plant a child, if he even does not know how to sit. Landing is an imitation of a child's sitting position, in which an adult helps him - this is the meaning of this definition.

Justification

In the first weeks of a baby's life, urination and defecation are directly dependent on food intake. The kid goes to the toilet in a small and big way, when he sucks, or as soon as he eats. Thus, you can catch the right moment when to plant the child over the pot or basin.

Any mother can plant a child from birth if she wants to learn this and understands that most of the time the child should spend in her mother's arms or in close proximity to her. If the mother thinks that the child cannot be taught to hand, and is sure that the correct child is a child who spends most of the time in the crib, sucking on a pacifier, then she will not be able to plant the baby, and she is unlikely to want to. She'd better use a diaper.

When to plant

A newborn can show in different ways that the intestines or bladder are full - screaming, crying, squeaking, whining, grunting, and can gesture in some special way. If you closely monitor his signals, over time you will learn how to properly understand and separate them from everyone else, as well as respond quickly. Learning to understand the child's signals should be started as early as possible.

Pros

Parents who practice the early drop-off method say it helps to establish close emotional contact with the child from a very early age, because he must be constantly monitored to learn to understand his signals.

Also, some people notice that planting eliminates the problem of potty training, which appears a little later for many mothers. If a child is started early, the likelihood that he will start asking for a potty before his peers running in diapers is much greater. Another plus of early planting - savings on diapers, which are not cheap.

Minuses

The early landing method is only for those mothers who can devote all their free time to their child, because you need to constantly observe his behavior in order to understand what he wants. If you cannot spend the whole day with your child every day, this method is not for you. If you often travel with your child or are constantly with them in public places, it will be difficult to drop it off. It is also difficult to practice the landing method for working mothers, even if it is work from home, because the baby needs to be constantly monitored in order to react in time to his signal when he wants to go to the toilet.

The idea that babies can keep their bowel movements under control is a myth from a physiological point of view. There is no evidence that early transplanting is a basic need for a child. But the fact that it is needed to establish closer contact with the baby can be argued. Even those pediatricians who support the “natural parenting” approach are quite comfortable with the early embarkation method.

Babies wearing diapers do not learn to potty later than babies who were planted from infancy; in general, the behavior of these two groups of children is not very different. Planting is done for the purpose of hygiene rather than to teach potty walking at an early age. Toddlers, who began to be planted on the pot very small, really get used to the pot early. But in most cases, this habit appears in them at the same age as in all other children - at 2-2.5 years. But you can save on diapers.

For cultures with a low level of civilization, whose representatives live in hot countries, planting is a necessary procedure. In many of these countries, it is customary to carry a baby in your arms at all times. If you do not plant it, it will simply stain itself and the one who wears it. People living in more developed countries can take care of their child's hygiene by other means - it is only a matter of their own preference.

According to the expert, pediatrician Olga Tkach, earlier planting and conscious use of the pot are not in any way connected. Children who were in diapers up to 1.5 years old and children who began to be planted from infancy were consciously potty trained at about the same time - at 1.5-2 years. Moreover, random acts of defecation at the most inappropriate moments can occur in both of them.

You can catch the moments when you need to plant the baby on the potty. Then the number of soiled pants will be minimal. But the early planting method does not guarantee that the child will learn to potty quickly.

Planting rules

If you decide to start planting the baby, be consistent, do not forget that the child is not a toy, he must understand what you want from him (either diapers, or a basin and diapers). The sooner you start, the easier and faster the process will go.

  • Get your baby out after every sleep, whether he woke up wet or dry;
  • Plant when worried. Gradually, you will begin to understand what kind of anxiety speaks about the child's desire to pee or poop;
  • Plant at your request, if you need it, for example, before a walk;
  • Don't expect your child to pee as soon as you've dropped him off, especially if you're trying to drop him off on your own initiative. Wait at least 2-3 minutes;
  • Do not insist on urinating if the baby has not sucked for a long time. He may have "nothing" to write with;
  • Plant the child if he has not written for a long time, and it seems to you that it is time;
  • The basin should always be at hand;
  • Babies several months and older may not write immediately after sleeping. Adapt to your child's changing needs.

Instructions

  1. It is necessary to determine when your happiness goes to the toilet: before meals / after / during.
  2. Hold the baby over the basin (pressing the legs to the tummy) as soon as he wakes up, and repeat the "letter-writing".
  3. Hold the baby over the basin immediately after eating, again with the same "writing-writing", and before eating, if the child has not written for a long time (for a long time - this is about 20 minutes for a baby).
  4. If your baby goes to the toilet while eating, in this case, as soon as you feel that the child begins to write (any mother can see this in her baby), hold him over the basin. At first, there may be an emergency, so put a diaper under the little one - if anything, wash.
  5. If you constantly repeat points 2 and 3 of this instruction, then over time the child will get used to it, and an emergency during eating will not occur. He will get used to going to the toilet before or after eating (as you teach him yourself).

Do not be discouraged if you cannot plant it right away - everything will come with experience.

Remember: children are not stupid - we ourselves teach them to walk by ourselves, and then we scold them for not wanting to go to the potty.
