After childbirth

How to maintain order in the house with the arrival of a child

They say that of the three aspects - a small child, mental balance of parents and order in the house - only two are possible at the same time. And, if there are children in the house, you don't have to try to make your apartment perfect.

And yet, we will tell you some simple rules that will help maintain at least partial order in the house.

Each thing has its own place

According to experienced mothers, with a baby who crawls, throws toys and in every possible way prevents cleaning, you need to have a special approach to maintaining order. The main rules are:

  1. Things lying on the floor should not block the passage from one room to another.
  2. Scattered toys and other items should not interfere with cleaning.
  3. Even if things are lying on the floor, you need to know exactly where they are.

Simply put, when every item in the house has its own place, it becomes easier to maintain order. If the doll is always put in the same place, the baby will probably not carry it far, but throw it nearby. Let everything end up on the floor, continue to put children's toys always in one place, the TV remote control in another, and your creams in the third.

Get rid of excess

If you want to clean up less, just don't bring anything extra home. Examine the scattered things - it is quite possible that you do not need half of them at all. Surely you will find a comb that you have not used for a long time, a tube of cream that has already expired. By the way, does a child need so many dolls or cars?

These guidelines will help you audit things:

  • Collect and discard whatever you find unnecessary.
  • Go through your belongings and give out to friends what you have not used for more than six months.
  • Do not give in to nostalgia and materialism. Yes, your little one slept with this teddy bear in the first weeks of his life, but is he playing with him now or are you just cherishing your memories? Here is the dress in which you celebrated the prom - is it dear to you as a memory? Get rid of the attributes of the past urgently, otherwise you will get bogged down in your memories and chaos, like in a swamp! If you want to keep things as a keepsake, just take a photo of them.
  • Feel free to get rid of half of all children's toys: leave one part in its place, the other - put in bags or boxes and send to the balcony. After a month, give the baby what was on the balcony, and what was in the house, take it to the balcony. The baby will play with the returned toys as with new ones, and you will need to clean less.

Neutralize hot spots

[sc name = ”ads”]

Housewives call "hot spots" places in the apartment, in which different things accumulate. The child also has a lot of such "hot spots", and all for two reasons: things do not have their own places or the crumb loves to play here, but the place for the game is not organized.

To solve this problem, you need to organize the child a space for games. Remove unnecessary things - find a place for them, and throw away all unnecessary things or turn them into toys. For example, empty unbreakable jars can be made rattles by pouring cereal into them.

Arrange several boxes with toys and items safe for crumbs in different corners - preferably in “hot spots”. Walking around the house, the baby will notice these boxes, take out objects from there and play with them, paying less attention to other things. This will make it easier for mom to clean, because it is not at all difficult to put scattered cars in boxes.

Connect modern assistants

To keep each item in its place, or at least next to it, use modern means to maintain order and cleanliness. There are a lot of them now. In an apartment with a child, plastic containers will come in handy, in which you can remove various little things like parts from designers. It is convenient to store bullets for toy pistols in plastic dressers, and in a drawer under the bed you can arrange an “apartment” for dolls with their clothes and furniture. It is better to lock small items, and not leave them on open shelves, where they are accessible to the little one.

Hanging shelves are also convenient in the household: you can hide any toys there, as well as bag rugs that are spread on the floor for play, and then pulled into a bag in one movement - and everything that was on them instantly appears inside.

Make a cleaning schedule

Do not strive to ensure that the house is always in perfect order - this way you will only waste your nerves. Even if you equip several play areas for your child, you will put things in their places, get rid of unnecessary things, you will not achieve round-the-clock cleanliness. It will become easier for you to maintain order, but you should not dwell on this, all the time pulling back the household, spoiling everyone's mood. Try to let go of the situation, let your baby play calmly, and make a cleaning schedule yourself and carry it out according to the schedule - for example, during the day's nap and late at night.
