A kitten is not a gift for everyone

Many cat lovers believe that a kitten can be a great gift for people who do not have a pet yet. This opinion is not always correct, since not everyone is ready for a fluffy crumbs to appear in their home. A kitten brings not only joy to the house, but also problems. Therefore, such a gift is not suitable for every person.

Most often, a kitten is given to children. Such a charming gift brings a lot of joy to the house only when the appearance of the pet in the house is planned. If all family members are ready to take care of the kitten, then the live gift will be accepted with delight. However, not every family has the opportunity to care for an animal, so a donated kitten can be an unpleasant surprise.

Even people who love animals immensely are not always ready to put a cat in the house. Therefore, the giver must first find out if he can make such a gift to his friends. For some, it is important to choose a kitten yourself. When making a choice, they take into account the characteristics of the breed.

Each representative of the feline family of a certain species, has a characteristic appearance, temperament inherent in this breed. Many potential owners want to see a kitten of a specific color in their home..

Therefore, the decision to present a living gift must be deliberate. It is even better if the consent of the future pet owner is obtained.

Who can give a kitten

Despite the problems that appear in the house after giving a fluffy ball, there are categories of people to whom a kitten will bring a lot of positive emotions. You can safely make such a gift:

  • a person who dreams of a certain breed of animal, constantly showing photos of kittens posted on the sites of catteries. If a potential pet owner declares a desire to settle him in his house, then an unexpected gift in the form of a kitten selected on the cattery's website will be an ideal surprise for him;
  • a small kitten presented to an elderly woman who prefers to spend evenings at home will perfectly brighten her loneliness;
  • a little cat will quickly become a member of a large family with children. If the family also has a grandmother, then the kitten will receive a huge amount of love and care.

For whom the donated kitten will become a burden

Not always even a person who loves animals can put a cat in his house. Felines can cause allergies caused by microscopic particles in their fur.

However, if the problem is only in allergies, and a person really wants to have a kitten, then you can take a closer look at such breeds as the Cornish Rex, Sphynx or Devon Rex. These are "anti-allergenic" cats.

If the allergy problem can still be solved, then there are other reasons that do not allow keeping a fluffy pet at home:

  • a person lives alone, and his profession provides for frequent business trips;
  • not every person has the means to maintain an animal, especially if it is purebred. For a thoroughbred kitten, special food is needed, the necessary vaccinations, systematic examinations by a veterinarian. This can take a significant part of the family budget;
  • you cannot give a kitten to a couple who have just had a child. During this period, they will not have time to raise a feline baby;
  • children often ask for a kitten, but this can only be done with the consent of the parents. If parents are not ready to take part in caring for a pet, then such a gift turns out to be of no use to anyone;
  • for many people, perfect order in the house is important. They do not need a restless family member at all, whose traces of life constantly appear in the form of spoiled indoor plants, torn wallpaper and spoiled furniture;
  • it takes a lot of time to raise a cat, during which the pet owner will have to spend money on repairing damage to the interior of the house. Those who are not ready for such sacrifices should not give a kitten. A troublemaker can quickly find himself on the street, joining the ranks of stray cats.

Obviously, before planning to make a gift in the form of a live kitten, the giver should feel that he, too, is responsible for the future fate of the mustached baby.

He must assess how the new owner of the kitten is ready for his upbringing. It may happen that the initial joy of having a pet, after facing the need for daily cleaning in the house, will quickly be replaced by negative emotions.

The period of raising a small representative of the feline family will become easy for its owner only if there is a great love for animals. The feeling of love will help you easily solve all the problems associated with the appearance of a kitten in the house.
