"Detralex" during pregnancy: instructions for use

Many women expecting a baby are faced with circulatory disorders, because the load on the vessels during pregnancy increases significantly. And problems such as edema, exacerbation of hemorrhoids, varicose veins in the legs or thrombosis are quite common. For their treatment use special drugs from the group of venotonic drugs, including "Detralex".

If the doctor recommended the expectant mother to take it for varicose veins, hemorrhoids or other ailments, you need to not only follow the scheme prescribed by a specialist, but also carefully read the instructions for use, as well as a review of reviews.

Features of the drug

Detralex is available in two dosage forms. One of them is a yellowish homogeneous suspension packed in separate 10 ml sachets.

The active substance of the drug is crushed and refined flavonoids at a dose of 1000 mg in one sachet. Most of these flavonoids (90%) are represented by diosmin, and the remainder is hesperidin.

Among subsidiary ingredients the suspensions have water, xanthan gum, orange flavor, sodium benzoate, maltitol, and citric acid. This "Detralex" is sold without a prescription in 15 or 30 sachets in one cardboard box. The suspension has a shelf life of 3 years, and it is permissible to store it at a temperature not higher than +30 degrees Celsius.

The second form of "Detralex" is an oval-shaped tablet with an orange-pink film shell. They also act due to the flavonoid fraction, the dose of which in one tablet is 500 mg or 1000 mg.

Tablets with a higher dosage have a risk on the surface that they can be divided into halves for easier swallowing.

Inactive substances For tabletted Detralex, gelatin, talc, magnesium stearate, sodium carboxymethyl starch, microcrystalline cellulose and water act, and the shell is made of a special premix, sodium lauryl sulfate and macrogol. The drug is packaged in blisters of 9-15 tablets and sold in packs containing 18 to 60 tablets. To buy pills, a prescription is not required, and such a medication should be stored at home at room temperature for no longer than 4 years from the date of manufacture.

Operating principle

Detralex acts on veins and small vessels, strengthening their walls. Taking tablets or suspension:

  • improves venous hemodynamics;
  • eliminates stagnation of blood in the veins;
  • makes capillaries less permeable and more resistant;
  • reduces venous extensibility;
  • reduces the risk of blood clots and inflammation of the venous wall;
  • raises the tone of the veins.

Studies have confirmed the effectiveness of the drug in chronic venous diseases, as well as after surgical treatment of venous diseases. Bioflavonoids as part of a suspension and tablets, they perfectly strengthen small and large vessels, stimulating microcirculation and normalizing the state of the venous-lymphatic system. Under their influence, venous blood and lymph move more actively through the vessels, and the supply of oxygen to tissues improves.

Is it allowed during pregnancy?

Detralex refers to drugs that can be applied while waiting for the child under the supervision of a doctor.

Testing of the drug on pregnant women was not carried out, but animal studies confirmed the absence of teratogenic effects on the fetus, and the experience of using tablets and suspensions in expectant mothers did not reveal any harmful effects in relation to the development of the baby and the state of the uterus.

Obstetrician-gynecologists do not consider it dangerous for a pregnant woman and crumbs in the tummy, so they admit use of "Detralex" in the presence of indications for such treatment. However, self-administration of the medication is not recommended.

Reviews

The use of Detralex during the period of childbearing occurs mainly positive reviews. Women confirm that the remedy helped to get rid of heaviness and discomfort in the legs, reduce the risk of blood clots or quickly eliminate the exacerbation of hemorrhoids.
