At what age can you give your child drying?

Many babies like drying, especially if the crumbs are teething, and such a hard treat allows you to scratch your gums. But is it possible to give drying to children under one year old? And is it permissible to offer a store dryer to an infant, or is it better to bake them yourself?

At what age to give drying to children

To answer the question of when you can give your child drying, you should take into account the following nuances:

  • Dryers are a source of proteins, dietary fiber, carbohydrates, B vitaminsas well as a large number of minerals.
  • Eggs are often found in store dryers, so this product is not recommended for children under one year old. Pediatricians, including the doctor Komarovsky, do not advise introducing egg white into the diet of a child of this age, because they are often allergic.
  • Since the bagels are the source gluten, such a product should not be given to children with an intolerance to this protein. If the baby has a tendency to allergies, acquaintance with dryers should be postponed.
  • Store dryers can be baked with margarine, baking powder, flavorings, and other additives. They are also often high in sugar and can be mixed with poppy seeds. All of these ingredients are not recommended for use in children under three years of age.
  • Give the child hand-baked dryers or a product from the store that contains only flour, yeast, salt and water, possible from 7-8 months.
  • The recommended drying rate for a child aged 8-9 months is up to 5 grams, and at the age of 10-12 months - 10 grams.
  • Drying is a fairly solid product, so they are often given to babies with teething teeth. When the baby licks such hard bagels in his mouth, it helps relieve itching of his gums and speeds up teething.
  • After giving the child a drying, he should not be left alone with such a product. If the crumb gnaws a bagel, it may choke on part of it. You should also prevent the child from swallowing the dryer whole, because this can pose a danger to the baby's life.
  • To protect a baby up to a year old, when using dryers, you can use a nibbler... Placed in such a nylon bag, the steering wheel will not get into the baby's mouth after chewing.
  • Drying is high in calories, therefore, their excessive use is not recommended if the child is prone to gaining excess weight.

How to choose store dryers

When buying bagels for a child in a store, read the label carefully, paying attention to the composition of the product, as well as its freshness.

Also inspect the dryers themselves, making sure they are smooth, free from cracks or bulges. Do not buy a bag if it contains a large number of broken bagels, as this is evidence of poor quality.

How to bake drying a child at home?

For a child aged 7-8 months, the most suitable safe option for dryers would be a dish that mom baked herself. Moreover, the cooking recipe is quite simple:

  • Take 300 g flour and sift it by adding a quarter teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of sugar.
  • Add 150 ml water in portions, kneading the dough with a spoon.
  • When it becomes sticky and viscous, add 30 ml of sunflower oil.
  • Knead the mixture with your hands, adding flour if necessary to make a tough dough.
  • Pinch off pieces of dough, roll up the flagella from them and fasten their ends to form the bagels.
  • Dip the dough pieces in boiling water for 3 minutes, and then remove and spread on parchment.
  • Send future dryings to a preheated oven for 15-25 minutes until tender.
