The group of B vitamins includes several vitamin substances that perform different functions, but are very important for the health of the child. Lack of any of these vitamins adversely affects the functioning of the body as a whole. And therefore, all parents should know which vitamins belong to the B-group and how they are important for the child, as well as in which products and vitamin preparations they contain.

Without a sufficient amount of vitamin B2, the work of the adrenal glands is disrupted, and vision deteriorates, since riboflavin is a component of the pigment that protects the retina from the negative effects of ultraviolet radiation and is responsible for night vision.

The child needs riboflavin per day in the following amount:

This vitamin, also called biotin or vitamin H, is extremely important for the condition of the skin, since it participates in the formation of collagen. Vitamin Supplements

B vitamins can be found in many multivitamin preparations. Since different vitamins of this group increase the effectiveness of each other, usually in vitamin preparations, they are represented by a complex of most representatives of group B.

Often vitamin B1, riboflavin, pyridoxine and vitamin B12 can be seen in vitamins for children, since these are the most important compounds for the life and growth of the child's body.

Traditionally, supplements containing B vitamins are intended to prevent hypovitaminosis. The dosages of vitamins presented in them are from 25 to 100% of the daily requirement. Multivitamins with a high content of B vitamins are also prescribed for problems with the functioning of the nervous system and high mental stress.

Pediatricians argue about the need to introduce vitamin complexes into the diet of children. For example, the authoritative doctor Komarovsky does not see the need for them, but the Union of Pediatricians of Russia does. For more on this, see the following videos.

Overdose

Since all vitamins included in group B are water-soluble compounds, they are not able to accumulate in the body. If, with food or with vitamin preparations, a small excess of B vitamins enters the child's body, all excess substances are excreted.

It is only dangerous to consume a large dose of such vitamins at once, which can lead to intoxication and digestive problems.
