What is the difference between kinetic, space, living sand and which is better?

The modern market of goods for developing activities and creativity has recently been replenished with special sand, which molds perfectly and does not dry out. But, having decided to purchase such material for a home sandbox, parents will have to choose one of three types - space, kinetic or living sand. And figuring out which one is better to buy for your baby is not so easy.

Purpose and what is common?

  • All types are intended for classes with children over 3 years old, but under the supervision of parents, you can play with such material from the age of one. Such options are used for entertainment, education, and even medical treatment.
  • You can play with each of these types at home in any weather, inviting guests to your place. This home sandbox is especially in demand in winter and on rainy days.
  • Any of these types can help in the development of creative skills, imagination, speech, attention, perseverance and memory.
  • All options are pleasant to the touch and look like wet sea sand. They do not require the addition of water for sculpting, do not dry out, do not stain your child's hands and do not leave marks on the playing surface.
  • By practicing with any of the sculpting sands, the child will calm down, relax and relieve stress.
  • Each of them is harmless, hypoallergenic and safe for the child. It does not develop harmful bacteria and there are no toxic substances.
  • It is very easy to collect any sand for modeling after the end of the game. It is enough just to make a lump out of it and touch it to the grains of sand remaining on the playing surface. Small particles will adhere to the bulk like a magnet.

What to choose?

Due to the white tint of living sand, it is more interesting for playing in the summer, when there is a lot of ordinary light brown sand in the street sandpit. Parents note that it is softer than other species, it is fluffier and lighter.

Kinetic and space sands are denser, so baby's hands are massaged better. It is more pleasant to play with such sand in winter, remembering summer walks. Figures made of these two types of sand are more durable.

If you choose a gift, then live sand is preferable, as it has a more attractive appearance, bright packaging, interesting sets with accessories. Also a good gift option are colored versions of kinetic or space sand, for example, packaging with two different colors of sand.

Deciding which of the three presented types is better is very difficult. A good solution would be to buy small packages of each of them and in practice decide which option the baby will like best. You can also play with different types at a party or development clubs. You need to choose what you like best, because the quality of all types of sand for modeling is very good.

The benefits of games

  • Sculpting will strengthen the muscles of the hands and improve the mobility of the joints.
  • Such material allows you to deal with counting with kids, the study of shapes and sizes, letters and much more.
  • Thanks to the pleasant tactile sensations and calming effects, such games help with increased excitability and activity of the child. While modeling, the baby becomes more assiduous and learns to concentrate.
  • Stimulating the nerve endings of the fingers during sculpting is important for fine motor skills, which helps in the development of speech and thinking.
