Choosing Molfix diapers

Many parents, having seen the cost of diapers and having estimated how much it will cost the family budget, are ready to completely abandon such products in favor of classic cotton diapers. You can, of course, do this, but in the modern world it is simply inconvenient - a mother will not be able to leave her child for at least the first two years of his life, just as she will not be able to go anywhere with him. The solution to this problem can be a choice in favor of not the most popular brands. Molfix is a relatively well-known, but still not very advertised diaper manufacturer.

A few words about the manufacturer

The Molfix brand belongs to the huge Turkish corporation Hayat, which unites four dozen companies engaged in various fields of production - from timber processing and servicing seaports to the production of hygiene products. Of course, we are most interested in the latter - the company calls itself the fifth largest diaper manufacturer in the world. Founded in 1937, the future multinational corporation has reached impressive proportions today. Its products are represented in 100 countries of the world, and the total number of employees reaches 17 thousand.

Representative offices of the company are open in several foreign countries, including Russia, and the site of the Molfix company (but not Hayat in general) even has a Russian-language section. The products of the same corporation may also be known to Russian consumers thanks to Molped sanitary pads.

Despite the seeming scale of production, many consumers are mediocre in the brand's products. Although the country of manufacture of diapers is Turkey, which is pretty good, because the company focuses mainly on the markets of developing countries. It is enough to see where its offices are located - in addition to Russia, it is well represented in Bulgaria, Iran, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria and Pakistan.

In all these countries, the population does not belong to the well-off, therefore, the products, predictably, belong to the budget. This can be seen as a plus, but, obviously, the company has to look for a compromise between low production costs and decent quality, and the latter does not always correspond.

Assortment and sizes

Contrary to the general trend, the Turkish brand does not produce baby potty training panties or any other product that could be called a kind of substitute for the actual diapers. Of the other products for children in the company's model range, only wet wipes and disposable diapers are presented, so the choice among diapers themselves is practically reduced to determining the size. Manufacturers claim that diapers of different sizes are optimized for the appropriate age of the child, so it is worth taking a closer look at what they write about them.

  • Size 1 or Newborn intended for newborns, the weight category is described as 2–5 kg. Turkish developers have noticed that the skin of a newborn is particularly vulnerable, therefore it requires only the most gentle touches - their masterpiece is made of fabric that meets this requirement. In addition, these diapers are designed with a special cutout for the umbilical cord zone, which allows you not to irritate a fresh wound and have constant access to it. The inner layer is saturated with aloe vera and chamomile extracts, designed to heal the skin in case of need.

  • Size 2, aka Mini, practically does not differ in weight parameters (3–6 kg), therefore it is suitable for the same newborns, only slightly heavier. Nothing has been said about the cut for the navel, but the manufacturer claims that with all the subtlety and elasticity that does not interfere with the comfort of the baby, such a diaper perfectly absorbs moisture.

  • Midi, also known as size 3, assumes a baby's weight in the range of 4-9 kg. Children achieve such anthropometry at the very peak of using diapers, when it is still too far to start mastering the pot, and the intensity of use only increases, and even more complexity arises in the form of the growing activity of the baby. Taking into account the need to adapt to the constantly changing needs of the child, the manufacturer offers packages of very different sizes - from 10 to 90 pieces per pack. Actually, on this, as well as on the difference in weight, all the differences from the previous category end.

  • Size 4 or Maxi in terms of quality characteristics, it is also not very different - the main difference is the potential weight of the baby, which now can be from 7 to 14 kg. For slender babies who are not gaining weight too quickly, such a product may become the last of its kind, therefore there is a wide selection of available packages, which have somewhat decreased in quantity - there can be from 9 to 80 copies in a pack.

  • Molfix even has a small branch in the size range as a size 4+ or Maxi Plus. Such a product is completely identical to the previous one, but is designed for slightly larger children weighing from 9 to 16 kg.

  • Junior or size 5 is the last diaper size for most babies - after that, they either have to switch to panties for potty training, or already be able to fully use the latter. The weight of a child for whom this size is suitable is in the range of 11-18 kg.

  • Not all children get used to the potty as quickly as their parents would like, so there are even diapers in the brand's model range. Extra Large or simply size 6. The weight of a child for such accessories starts from 15 kg, the manufacturer does not indicate the upper limit of the mass of the main consumer. Many competing baby care manufacturers in this weight category already have only panties for potty training, but Molfix has not yet mastered the production of such accessories.

It must be said that the above table indicates the official figures declared by the manufacturer, while many parents, at least in our country, do not agree with such an estimate of the size range.

On the Internet, you can often find complaints that a diaper that is supposedly suitable for a child by weight, in fact either does not really fit on it, or slips, so parents often complain that the products of a Turkish brand are quite difficult to choose exactly in size.

Customer ratings

Predictably, a manufacturer's website usually shows only the best side of a manufacturer's products, but the more truthful indicator is usually the comments of parents who have had experience with the relevant product. We were not too lazy to look at maternity sites and find opinions on Molfix diapers there. Let's just say, despite the fact that most authors still point out certain advantages, most likely a negative assessment of the product prevails.

It is possible that everything is not always so bad, and it is possible that such a solution will be quite suitable for your child, but the consumer should be aware of all the risks in advance.

Let's start with the good stuff. Most authors highlight several points as advantages.

  • Rates. Diapers from Japan are considered the absolute leader in terms of quality, but they also differ in the highest price. For comparison, Molfix costs about one and a half times cheaper, which for many parents is an important factor in order to at least try such a product.
  • Reliability. Many parents, even frankly criticizing the product from a Turkish manufacturer, indicate that it still did not leak, that is, it coped with its main function.
  • Softness. Perhaps, there are softer diapers, which no one really denies, but Molfix products did not disappoint in this regard. Some other diapers, even from the promoted and famous ones, are somewhat inferior to those considered in this context.
  • Design. Most mothers commented positively on the drawings that adorn the baby care accessories of this brand. It is also considered a plus that the consumer can choose exactly how such pictures will look - there are several options to choose from, so that diapers are liked first of all by their little owner.

On this, in fact, the positive aspects usually end. As for the criticism of the manufacturer, it is much more extensive and versatile, and some of the comments affect the fundamental principles of the diaper.

  • Failure to absorb. What the Turks obviously saved on was an absorbent that can turn liquid into gel. Many parents complain that the baby's skin remains wet, and this is a direct path to prickly heat, diaper rash and other problems. In some cases, such a diaper, not equipped with modern technology, can leak, which is not surprising since it does not absorb.
  • Strange cut. The likelihood of leakage increases even more due to the fact that Molfix diapers do not fit perfectly on most children. Mothers often complain that such an accessory sits on the child like a bag, sags either in front or in the back, and it doesn't really work to pull it up - pulling on one side, we get sagging on the other. With some babies, especially mobile ones, such diapers also slip, and this, together with a weak absorbency, makes the likelihood of leakage simply threatening.
  • Crumple and rub. Tthe fact that the diapers in question do not fit well, negatively affects not only the appearance, but also the practical use of the product. Being loose in general, such diapers can rub the baby's legs perceptibly, and urine can also get there, which will only aggravate the pain. Molfix is often reluctant to keep its shape at all, which makes it more likely to leak again.
  • Smell. Even unused diapers of this brand have a specific smell (paper, although it should not be), and used ones do not hold it at all, so you will know about using the accessory almost immediately.
  • Lack of technology. Molfix diapers do not provide a full indicator and additional protection of the child from rashes, but in the context of the relatively low cost and all the above disadvantages, this is no longer even surprising.
  • Price. Although some consider the cost of the brand's products as a plus, experienced parents point out that for about the same money, you can purchase better quality counterparts from the famous Pampers or Huggies.
