Children's beds for boys

Cribs for boys are no less colorful and original than cribs for little princesses. There are many models, colors and original design ideas, you just have to choose the right one.

Kinds

Single

Single beds are the most traditional bedroom furniture option. They do not take up much space, often have side walls, are low, and most importantly, they can be adjusted in length and used for up to 12 years or more. For a teenage room, this is almost the only acceptable option. When buying a single bed for babies, you need to remember that they should be low and have side walls.

Two-tier

If the room is small and two children sleep in it, bunk beds are almost the only right decision in choosing a berth. Generally, boys love these beds, but unfortunately they are potentially dangerous. On the upper tier, children can sleep only from 6-8 years old and only those of them who do not move much during sleep.

It is desirable that the ladder of the bunk bed be with wide steps, handrails, lighting and be tilted. Descent and ascent on such a ladder will be safer and more comfortable. The bunk bed can be turned into a house, tent, space station, bus or pirate ship.

Two-tier models are divided into three types:

  • With one bed, which is located both on the lower and upper floors. The first level can be designed as a work area, the second as a place for games. Suitable for a small room with one child.
  • With two berths one above the other - such a bed can be chosen for two children.
  • Triple bed, two of which are located on the ground floor - this option is ideal for three children.

Beds with two floors have their drawbacks, the main one being the height. A child sleeping on the upper tier may feel uncomfortable. In addition, the ceiling provides poor air circulation, which also contributes to the development of restless sleep.

Roll-out bunk bed

This is a safer alternative to a regular two-story bed. At night, two children (or one of the parents, if necessary) can sleep peacefully on two beds, and during the day the first level can be removed to make the bed a single bed. In this case, both levels can be used separately from each other. Today, such models are in demand, because domestic manufacturers offer many of their configurations: with sliding tables, drawers, stairs, various decorations, with a soft headboard.

Couches

The couches are suitable for adult children. These sleeping places are compact, have storage space, and can be easily converted into a sofa or armchair. And when the child grows up, such a sofa can become a guest.

Sofas and armchairs

Children's sofas and armchairs often have bright children's upholstery, they are compact, and when assembled, save space. However, they are more difficult to clean and not always easy to lay out and collect. The colorful and childlike design of children's sofas and armchairs is only suitable for a temporary sleeping place, because very soon the child may "outgrow" it.

For teenagers, sofas and armchairs are a perfectly acceptable option for them. In the end, they can disassemble and assemble the bed themselves, and during the day with such furniture, they can receive friends, relax, play and read books in comfort.

Materials and sizes

The basis for most cribs for boys is durable and environmentally friendly materials: metal, natural wood and wooden boards with various types of coatings and finishes: veneered, enameled or laminated.

As a decoration, plastic and materials of the main structure are used, with frescoes or photo prints.

It is believed that a wooden bed is the most reliable option. However, the purchase of such furniture can seriously affect the family budget - such furniture is considered the most expensive on the market.

It is better to choose a design from MDF: many buyers note the high strength of the material at an affordable price.

The size of the bed should be chosen based on the age and height of the child. Large furniture will feel uncomfortable for a little boy.

Most often, the following bed sizes for a boy are chosen:

  • 80 × 160 cm or 80 × 180 cm (designed for children from 5 to 10 years old);
  • 190 × 90 or 80 × 210 (suitable for teenagers 10 - 16 years old).

Color solutions

The following colors of beds for boys are considered the most optimal:

  • grey;
  • blue;
  • brown;
  • beige;
  • yellow;
  • white;
  • turquoise;
  • green;
  • Orange.

With the help of contrasting combinations of the main background, accessories and textiles, you can create bright color spots that will enliven the interior of the room, make it brighter and more original.

Unusual models

When choosing a sleeping place, most often the child stops at non-standard designs that attract attention with their brightness and originality. These include models that look like a car, train, or plane. This can be a bed-house, a truck, furniture in a nautical style.

Unusual designs have a number of distinctive features:

  1. Original design;
  2. An abundance of details (windows, wheels, steering wheel);
  3. Interesting elements that imitate real transport (glowing headlights, vibration, engine sound);
  4. The presence of storage boxes.

Car beds come in a wide range of prices. The cost depends on the complexity of the design: simple ones will cost much less, backlit views - more expensive.

The interior in the children's room should be harmonious. When buying a custom bed, you need to think in advance about other furniture and accessories that will complement the overall picture. Otherwise, the unusual design can look comical.

Small original beds are less functional, more often they have a simple design. Larger models have additional storage space and various design elements (eg headlights, car sounds).

You should not buy such a bed if the area of the children's room is very small. The structure is large enough, so it requires free space.

How to choose?

It is best if the child is involved in the selection of new furniture. The boy should like it: this way it will be possible to smooth out the feelings that children usually experience when they change their place.

General recommendations:

  1. The child should be encouraged to select new furniture, mattress and bedding. Thus, the transition from crib to bed will be easier and more interesting.
  2. It is best not to combine moving the child to a new bed with events such as the first day of kindergarten or the birth of a brother / sister. It is better to do this in advance, for example, several months before the event.
  3. If the child sleeps restlessly, it is better to buy a low bed.
  4. Furniture made of chipboard, MDF, fiberboard must be made of high quality material with formaldehyde emission class E1.

When choosing a bunk bed for sons, it is better to think about the design of the room. Not all models fit into the interior. Even if you really liked the furniture, it may look a little different in the room, the decor elements should be combined with each other. The material from which the bed is made, the color and design of the product are of great importance. Bunk beds vary in size: there are high and low, wide and narrow.

The functionality of the bed is equally important. It is necessary to decide whether the bed will be used only as a sleeping place or will be also an area for games (for this it is best to buy a loft bed).

A huge variety of design models allows you to choose exactly the design that suits the child, but there are several mandatory requirements:

  • the bed should not be narrow so that the child does not fall while sleeping;
  • it must necessarily have a back, semicircular and rectangular options are considered the most favorable.

Many parents pay special attention to the quality and design of the bed, but, unfortunately, not everyone remembers that its location is equally important.

How to place?

Perhaps the most difficult question is how to put a bed in a nursery, and the organization of a sleeping place affects the health and vitality of the child.

A child's bed is the most important piece of furniture that represents a whole world of dreams and fantasies. This should not only be a comfortable and safe place, it should fill their lives with joy and bright colors. What surrounds a child in the first 2-3 years of life has a huge impact on his growth and perception of the world.

A bed for a child is not only a guarantee of healthy sleep, but also an important condition for the formation of creative skills and knowledge of the surrounding world. Therefore, it is necessary with great responsibility to approach the choice of this furniture and the place where it is best placed.

The arrangement of the furniture greatly influences the process of falling asleep, sleep peace and well-being. The cot should be placed in such a way that the child can see everyone who enters his room. But do not put it in front of the door, as this will lead to an imbalance of energy, which affects a bad and gloomy mood in the morning. Best positions: side wall and room diagonal.

If you have no choice but to put your bed right in front of the door, remember to have it with a high enough back.

The position of the baby's head during sleep is of great importance. If he puts his head in the right direction, he will be healthy, but insomnia, illness and nightmares indicate the wrong position.

The ideal option is to sleep with your head facing north, since in this position the baby lies directly along the magnetic field lines, which guarantees peace of mind and good health.

The East also has a beneficial effect on the child, ensuring good growth and development.

Sleeping to the west makes the child more active and emotional. This position is well suited for gifted children with a lot of creativity.

It is bad if the child's head is directed south during sleep. This can cause poor restless sleep and frequent illnesses. In such a situation, you can attach a small mirror to the outside of the bed - this slightly mitigates the adverse effects.

Young children are very sensitive to negative zones, so they can unintentionally take the correct position during sleep. It is extremely common for mothers to find that in a dream the child is walking across the bed or turned upside down. It is necessary to follow his movements and move the bed in the appropriate direction.

If the child does not sleep well, often wakes up or cries in his sleep, you need to turn the bed to the other side, perhaps this is the solution to the problem.

For a restful sleep for a boy, you need to not only place the bed in the right direction, but also fill the space next to it on the right. There should be no mirrors in the sleeping area, as they are often the cause of nightmares and insomnia. The mirror should be positioned so that the bed is not reflected in it. This also applies to the TV.

There should be no sharp corners in bed, as they emit negative energy. In the future, they can be the source of many diseases.

The space under the child's bed should always be free as it creates harmful stagnant energy.

Nothing should be placed above the bed, as this contributes to poor sleep and nervous disorders. There are many stylish furniture options that are located above the drawers and shelves of the bed, but this can turn into a phobia and make the child afraid of being overwhelmed.

Interior options

Age is the most important criterion in choosing a children's room design. Obviously, a 4-year-old's bedroom will be significantly different from a 14-year-old's.

1-3 years

At this age, it is important that the interior of the nursery consists of the following details:

  • bright shades;
  • bright accents;
  • obligatory "field" for games;
  • feeling of comfort;
  • protected furniture.

It is these points that should be observed and applied when creating a room for a child. Particular attention should be paid to the safety of the furniture.

3-5 years

At this age, the child begins to show personality. The boy is active, curious. If the floor space allows, any gymnastic devices (ropes, rings) can be installed. At this age, children love to express themselves creatively. Conditions for practical drawing and modeling should be created. When creating a room, the main thing is not to forget that at this age the boy spends most of his time in the game mode.

7-8 years old

This age can be called transitional. The child is still willing to spend all his free time on games and other activities that he loves, but at the same time, he already has certain responsibilities. This includes homework from school. Therefore, an important point in the design of a room for a boy of 7-8 years old should be zoning. Ideally, the play area in the room should be clearly divided.

10-12 years old

At this age, almost every boy has his own favorite character (movie character, sportsman, cartoon character). You can use it in the design of a child's room. The main thing is not to go too far, otherwise in such a room the child will quickly get tired of the once beloved character. You can leave one wall of the room for a thematic drawing (it can be printed on special wallpaper) and add 2-3 objects to the interior, for example, a bed in the style of your favorite character.

Teenager

The older the child is, the more he develops as a person. At this age, clear views on life, certain interests have already been formed, a circle of friends has been chosen. You can equip some space of the room with a sports field (many boys in their teens begin to show interest in sports) or create a room for a certain boy's hobby (drawing, modeling, music).

Adolescence is a time of rapid growth and the formation of an organism. An ergonomic table, the right chair, a bed with a good mattress - when choosing furniture, you should pay attention to this.
