Ibuklin for children

Fever is a worrying symptom for parents. Medicines used at a temperature in children represent a huge group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Therefore, it can be difficult for mothers to find syrup or candles, especially if the child is small.

One of the most popular representatives of this group of drugs in childhood is ibuklin. It is released for children under the name "Ibuklin junior" (sometimes the name is read as junior). Before you buy such a remedy for a feverish child, it is important to find out what active substances ibuklin contains, in which cases it is indicated and how to give such a drug.

Composition

The main components of children's ibuklin are:

  1. Paracetamol - a well-known antipyretic substance, which also has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect. It is absorbed quickly enough and has an effect after 10 minutes, and the maximum effect of paracetamol is noted 1 hour after ingestion. Excretion of paracetamol occurs mainly with feces. Each tablet contains 125 mg of this compound.
  2. Ibuprofen - a drug in demand for fever, which quickly relieves painful sensations and reduces the manifestations of the inflammatory process. Its absorption is slower and the maximum effect occurs later - after about 2-3 hours. Ibuprofen is excreted mainly in the urine. Each tablet contains 100 mg of this substance.

Additional compounds in the composition of ibuklin for children are represented by corn starch, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium carboxymethyl starch, lactose, glycerol, talc, microcrystalline cellulose, as well as peppermint leaf oil. In addition, the drug contains a sweetener (aspartame), flavoring additives (give the smell of pineapple and orange) and a dye (E124). This information is especially important if your child is prone to allergies.

Release form and price

The drug is presented by pink tablets, which have a mint-fruity aroma. The tablets are packed in a blister of 10 pieces, and one package contains 1, 2 or 20 blisters. Additionally, there is a spoon in the package of baby ibuclin, in which it is convenient to prepare a suspension for children.

You can buy this medication at any pharmacy without a prescription. Prices for this drug vary from 70 to 150 rubles. At the same time, the average cost of ibuklin for children is 90 rubles.

Act

The drug has the following effect:

  • Antipyretic.
  • Pain relievers.
  • Anti-inflammatory.

The therapeutic effect of taking ibuclin comes quickly enough and lasts about 8 hours. Both compounds in its composition are well-studied substances used in the treatment of children from an early age. They enhance each other's effects and are relatively safe for children.

The mechanism of action of such substances is similar - they affect the formation of prostaglandins in the child's body, suppressing their synthesis. And since it is these compounds that provoke an inflammatory reaction, pain sensations and a rise in temperature, this determines the main effects of ibuclin.

Indications

Ibuklin junior is prescribed for fever and pain syndrome caused by:

  • ARVI.
  • Influenza.
  • Sinusitis.
  • Pharyngitis.
  • Laryngitis.

  • Damage to the teeth.
  • Sprained ligaments.
  • Dislocation or fracture.

The use of ibuklin is not recommended if:

  • The child is under 3 years old.
  • There is an intolerance to its components.

  • The child's liver functions are impaired.
  • There are diseases of the hematopoietic system.
  • The child has problems with the optic nerve.
  • Diagnosed with progressive kidney disease.
  • The child developed bronchial asthma, exacerbated by taking aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • The baby has spleen diseases.

Side effects and warnings

Ibuclin for children may have such negative side effects:

  • Disruption of the functioning and health of the digestive tract, which is manifested by abdominal pain, upset stools, vomiting or nausea.
  • Toxic effects on the liver when using high doses of ibuklin.
  • Allergic reactions manifested on the child's skin with redness, rash and itching.
  • Changes in blood composition - a decrease in the number of leukocytes and platelets with the development of neutropenia, agranulocytosis and pancytopenia.
  • Weakness, dizziness, sleep problems, headaches, irritability.
  • Dryness of the oral mucosa, as well as stomatitis.
  • Visual and hearing impairment with excessive prolonged use.

When giving this medicine to a child, consider the following nuances:

  • It is recommended to give ibuklin to children only after consulting a doctor, especially if the child has an infectious disease, since the drug is able to mask the symptoms of such a disease.
  • To avoid the negative effects of ibuclin on the digestive organs, do not exceed the dosage of the medication and do not give the remedy for longer than the doctor prescribed.
  • If your child is taking ibuklin for more than 5 days, have a blood test and check for liver activity.
  • An overdose of the drug is manifested by disorders of the digestive system, disturbed sleep, depressed mood. Bleeding, arrhythmias and hypotension are possible. If you suspect an overdose, you should call an ambulance, and before the arrival of doctors, rinse the crumbs' stomach, give a lot of drink and activated charcoal.
  • Ibuclin should not be given at the same time as other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • If the drug is given along with a hypoglycemic agent, it will cause a more dramatic decrease in glucose levels.
  • Ibuclin has a property to weaken the effect of antihypertensive and diuretic drugs.
  • If ibuklin is used concomitantly with anticoagulants, it is important to monitor tests showing the state of the coagulation system.

Dosage

A single dosage of ibuklin for children is primarily affected by the weight of the child:

  • Children weighing up to 20 kg (aged 3 years and older) are given 1 tablet per dose, only three tablets per day.
  • Children weighing more than 20 kg (aged 6 years and older) are given two tablets of the drug at a time, which corresponds to a daily dose of 6 tablets.
  • Children over 12 years of age can be given the adult dosage.

Instructions for use

Although the medicine is produced in tablets, a suspension is first prepared for the child, after which the drug is given to the children in liquid form. Each tablet is dissolved in a teaspoon of non-hot water, resulting in a pleasant, sweet syrup. The dissolution of the ibuklin tablet occurs quickly enough.

The medicine is given to the child a maximum of 3 times a day, and the break between doses of ibuklin should be at least 4 hours.

Further, Dr. Komarovsky informs how to give paracetamol and ibuprofen correctly at a high temperature in a child.

Storage

The baby ibuclin tablet package should be kept in a place that is dry and protected from light. In addition, this place must be inaccessible to children. Storage temperature of the drug - no more than + 25 ° C. After the expiry date marked on the packaging of the product (its duration is 5 years), the medicine should be discarded.

Can a child be given an adult ibuklin?

The main difference between ibuklin for adults and the "junior" preparation is the dosage of active ingredients. The medicine that adults take contains 400 mg of ibuprofen (while in children it is 100 mg) and 325 mg of paracetamol (and in the drug for children only 125 mg). In addition, the adult version of ibuklin contains slightly different excipients than the medicine intended for children.

It is also important that the adult ibuklin is represented by insoluble orange coated tablets. These facts explain the impossibility of using adult ibuklin in the treatment of children under 12 years of age. It is permissible for a child over this age to give the drug 1 tablet 2 times a day. In this case, the tablet should be swallowed whole and washed down with water, and the pauses between doses of individual doses of adult ibuklin should be 6-8 hours.

Reviews

Most parents who have given their children Ibuclin Junior for fever or pain respond well to the drug. They note effective relief from pain and a rapid decrease in temperature after ingestion. Among the side effects, allergies and digestive disorders are most often reported.
