Chlorophyllipt in the form of an oil solution for children

"Chlorophyllipt" has been in demand in the practice of gynecologists, surgeons, pediatricians and otolaryngols for many years. One form of such a herbal preparation is an oil solution. It is intended for topical use, and is often prescribed for adults with cervical erosion, but it is sometimes prescribed for children as well.

Release form and composition

The medicine is sold in dark glass bottles containing 20 or 30 ml of solution. It has a dark green color, buttery texture and eucalyptus scent.

Such a solution should be completely transparent, and if a precipitate, any suspensions or other inclusions are visible in it, the use of the drug should be discarded.

For the manufacture of "Chlorophyllipt" use a plant called spherical eucalyptus, in particular, its leaves. The extract extracted from them is present in 100 ml of solution in an amount of 2 grams, that is, the concentration of such a drug is 2%. Sunflower or corn oil is an auxiliary component of this medication. There are no other substances in the solution.

We also note that "Chlorophyllipt" is available in other forms. Another liquid type of such a drug is an alcohol solution with a concentration of 1%. In addition, there is "Chlorophyllipt" in lozenges containing 25 mg of eucalyptus leaf extract.

A solution that contains alcohol has a fairly wide range of uses, and in some diseases it is even preferable to a solution in oil.

Operating principle

By its effect on the body, the drug belongs to antimicrobial and antiseptic agents, since it destroys pathogenic microbes and relieves the inflammatory process. Chlorophylls, phytoncides, valuable minerals and other substances from eucalyptus leaves contained in the solution act on harmful bacteria, among which there are even antibiotic-resistant staphylococci. In addition, the activity of inflammation is reduced under the action of the drug.

Indications

The drug is used for various diseases, lubricating the skin and mucous membranes. The reason to prescribe "Chlorophyllipt" in the form of an oil solution is:

  • burn;
  • long-term non-healing wound;
  • tonsillitis or tonsillitis;
  • stomatitis;
  • prickly heat;
  • rhinitis;
  • trophic ulcer;
  • abrasions or scratches;
  • furuncle;
  • ARVI;
  • acne;
  • sinusitis and some other pathologies.

At what age is it prescribed?

In the instructions for the oil solution "Chlorophyllipt" there is no information about the experience of use in children, but in practice such a drug is prescribed by doctors at any age. However, the treatment of mucous membranes with this drug in children under 12 years of age without a doctor's prescription is not recommended.

Application in patients over 12 years old is possible without medical supervision, but a specialist examination is desirable.

Contraindications

The use of "Chlorophyllipt" is strictly prohibited in case of hypersensitivity to eucalyptus. If it is detected in a small patient, it is unacceptable to apply the solution inside and use it to treat the skin.

Side effects

Since the medicine is based on a plant extract, after using it, various allergic reactions may occur, for example, a rash on the skin or swelling of the mucous membranes. To exclude such situations, it is recommended to do a sensitivity test before starting treatment, for example, apply a little solution to the skin or let the drug swallow in an amount of a few drops.

If symptoms of allergy are found after such a test, they immediately refuse to use the solution and show the patient to the doctor, who selects an adequate replacement.

Instructions for use

Consider the sequence of actions aimed at eliminating various diseases.

  • In case of bacteria in the throat "Chlorophyllipt" is applied using cotton flagella directly to the inflamed tonsils and arches. You can also give the child half a teaspoon of the solution, instilling this amount of medication in the mouth twice a day. After using the drug, the child should not eat or drink anything for 30 minutes.
  • For skin diseases the solution is applied to the affected areas (for example, to the navel or burned area) with a cotton swab or piece of gauze. The duration of treatment and the course of treatment should be determined by the doctor for each patient individually. Sometimes just a few applications are enough to stop the inflammatory process on the skin.
  • With inflammation of the oral mucosa treatment with an oil solution is carried out pointwise. The medicine is lubricated with foci of infection 4-5 times during the day. Processing should be done after eating and hygienic cleaning of the oral cavity. The duration of "Chlorophyllipt" application with this indication usually does not exceed 3 days.
  • Sometimes otolaryngologists recommend dripping oil-based Chlorophyllipt into the nose. If a child develops a cold, the drug is used for a runny nose and cough, a few drops in each nostril with an interval of 6 hours. This method of application is also in demand for inflammation of the maxillary sinuses. Having laid the child on one side, the agent in the amount of 5 drops is injected into the nasal passage, which is located below, after which the patient should lie for 15 minutes. Then the procedure is repeated for the opposite nostril.

Overdose and drug interactions

Exceeding the dose can cause discomfort, skin rashes and other negative reactions, in the event of which the drug must be canceled by giving the child activated charcoal and, if required, an antihistamine medicine.

Chlorophyllipt has a property to enhance the effect of other antiseptics, but upon contact with hydrogen peroxide, a precipitate is formed, therefore, between the use of such funds, it is required to wipe the skin with saline.

Terms of sale and storage

A solution of "Chlorophyllipt" in oil, like other forms of such a drug, is sold without a prescription. On average, you need to pay 200 rubles for 20 ml of the drug.

The shelf life of the oil solution is 2 years. Until its end, the bottle should lie in a place where the sun's rays do not fall, and the storage temperature should not exceed +20 degrees. In addition, the medication must be hidden from small children.

Reviews

Almost all parents who have used the solution of "Chlorophyllipt" in oil in their children speak positively about it. The main advantages of the drug include a natural basis, an affordable price, an effective action for various diseases (the remedy is capable of treating a large list of pathologies).

Among the shortcomings, they usually mention not too pleasant taste and smell, and in some children, the medication caused allergies.

Analogs

The drug can be replaced by "Eucalyptus oil", which also has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Such a drug is prescribed from the age of two in the form of rinsing (for diseases of the oral cavity) or inhalation (for damage to the upper respiratory tract). Since an allergy is possible to such a remedy, it is worth replacing "Chlorophyllipt" with it only as prescribed by a doctor.

Other antiseptic agents can be attributed to analogues of the drug used for stomatitis and other diseases of the mouth. Among them, the most in demand are "Hexoral", "Stopangin", "Miramistin", "Hexasprey", "Oralsept", "Lizobakt" and other drugs.

For a runny nose, sinusitis or pharyngitis, the doctor may prescribe Umkalor, Pinosol, Tolzingon N, Cameton, Eucasept or Sinupret.

Instead of Chlorophyllipt, damaged skin can be treated with Betadin, Levomekol, Tsindol, hydrogen peroxide and other local remedies. Since all these analogs differ in their mechanism of action, and have some contraindications, it is recommended to select a suitable replacement for "Chlorophylliptu" together with a doctor.
