Candles "Corilip" for children

Children with frequent illnesses or toddlers who have suffered serious illnesses need a variety of nutrients to support them. It is especially important to provide such support in case of malnutrition, increased workload or stress. In such situations, agents are prescribed that strengthen the child's body. They help prevent illness, even if the child is healthy, as well as accelerate recovery if the illness has already developed.

One of these strengthening agents is Corilip, which is produced in the form of rectal suppositories. How is it useful for babies and when is it used in children?

Release form

Korylip suppositories have a torpedo shape and a yellow color, sometimes with orange blotches. They are placed in cell blisters of 5 candles and are sold in 10 pieces in one pack.

Composition

Corilip contains 3 active ingredients:

  • Cocarboxylase hydrochloride. In one suppository, the amount of such a compound is 25 mg.
  • Riboflavin. This vitamin is present in each candle in a dose of 2 mg.
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid. This substance, also called thioctic acid, is contained in one candle at a dosage of 12 mg.

To such ingredients, hard fats or cocoa butter are added to give density and shape. There are no other additional chemicals in the medicine.

Operating principle

Korilip candles have a general tonic effect. Such a medication has a positive effect on metabolic processes in tissues, and its components enhance each other's effects:

  • Cocarboxylase is a coenzyme involved in the conversion of keto acids, the metabolism of carbohydrates, the synthesis of protein molecules, fats and nucleic acids. In such a compound, the ability to activate metabolism in tissues, eliminate cellular hypoxia and metabolic acidosis is noted. Cocarboxylase is useful for heart, kidney, or liver disease.
  • Riboflavin, which is also called vitamin B2, also plays the role of a coenzyme in redox reactions. Such a useful substance is involved in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and lipids. In addition, this vitamin is important for maintaining the condition of the mucous membranes and skin, visual function and the formation of hemoglobin.
  • Lipoic acid is essential for oxidative reactions and the exchange of keto acids, as well as for the regulation of metabolic transformations of carbohydrates and fats. This compound is also important for energy production and improves liver function. This acid protects the liver cells from both external toxic influences and toxins generated inside the body.

Indications

Corilip is in demand for various pathologies:

  • With malnutrition (if the child does not receive nutrients from food or gains weight poorly).
  • With chronic pathologies of internal organs.
  • With viral infections.
  • With reduced immunity.
  • With chronic tissue hypoxia.
  • With acetone.
  • For infections caused by bacteria.
  • During the recovery period after a serious illness.
  • With chronic intoxication.

In addition, candles are also recommended for the prevention of health disorders, for example:

  • During active growth.
  • With high mental stress.
  • When vaccinated.
  • With strong physical exertion.
  • During stressful situations.
  • During epidemics of SARS.

At what age is it assigned to children?

The drug is considered harmless to children, therefore it can be used even in newborns and babies up to one year old.

Contraindications

Suppositories are not used:

  • With intolerance to any of their components.
  • With bleeding from the rectum.
  • At the proct.

Side effects

Children with hypersensitivity to any component of the suppositories may experience urticaria, bronchospasm or another form of allergy from the first use of the medication. If the child's body reacted in this way to Korilip, further treatment should be abandoned and the baby should be shown to the doctor.

Instructions for use and dosage

  • Corylip should only be injected into the rectum. First, the candle is released from the package, and then, after emptying the intestines, the drug is carefully injected into the anus.
  • For a newborn baby or nursing baby, the optimal dosage will be half a candle, which is administered once a day. For a child 1-6 years old, the medication is administered once, one candle at a time. For children over six years old, Corilip can be prescribed 1 or 2 suppositories per day.
  • The duration of the drug is usually 10 days. After 20 days, the course is often repeated. In total, therapy involves three or four courses and lasts 3-4 months.

Overdose

The manufacturer does not provide information on the harmful effects of suppositories if they are used in too large a dosage.

Interaction with other medications

Corilip does not have any negative effect on other medicines, therefore it is often used together with other drugs. For example, a child can be prescribed Corilip and Elkar together - a remedy in the form of a solution based on levocarnitine.

Pharmacy terms of sale

To purchase suppositories, you first need to get a prescription from your doctor. On average, a pack of 20 candles costs 250-280 rubles.

Storage conditions and shelf life

The drug should be stored in a place hidden from the rays of the sun and moisture, out of reach of children. Since the manufacturer's recommended storage temperature is below +9 degrees, the candles are kept in the refrigerator. The shelf life of Korilip is 2 years.

Reviews

There are many positive reviews about the use of Corilip candles in children. In them, mothers call this remedy an excellent alternative to injections and note that there are practically no adverse reactions to suppositories. It is quite simple to use such a medication, according to mothers, even in the smallest children. The drug is praised for its composition and beneficial effect on the child's body.

Analogs

Corilip Neo candles are a complete analogue of the drug. They are also represented by yellow elongated suppositories of 10 pieces in one pack, which are sold by prescription. They have the same indications for use and the same contraindications. The medication is allowed from birth and is often used with insufficiently active weight gain, reduced immunity, somatic diseases or infections.

The main difference between Corilip Neo is a lower dosage of active ingredients, so such suppositories are most in demand among babies under one year old. Riboflavin in one Neo candle is presented in a dosage of 1 mg, lipoic acid is contained in an amount of 6 mg, and cocarboxylase in a dose of 12.5 mg.

The use of such a tool eliminates the need to cut the Corilip candle into halves. The drug is injected into the anus of a child under one year old every day for 10 days, once a day. After such a course, as with the use of Korilip candles, take a 20-day break, after which the remedy can be used again (another 2-3 courses).

Instead of Korilip for a frequently ill child or during the recovery period, the doctor may also recommend various immunomodulating agents, for example:

  • Galavit candles, which are used from 6 years of age.
  • Derinat drops or spray, prescribed at any age.
  • Nasal spray IRS-19, allowed from 3 months.
  • Coated tablets Cycloferon, used from 4 years old.
  • Imunofan suppositories, which are prescribed from 2 years of age.

Such drugs and other drugs that affect the immune system should not be used without consulting a doctor, because they have different active ingredients, and the child may have contraindications to taking them. Therefore, all doctors (and among them Dr. Komarovsky) advise against giving any immunomodulators without a pediatrician examination.
