The story of its creation began in 2005, when the owners of the brand presented at the exhibition in Pittsburgh a shower head that maintains a given temperature. However, the novelty did not find support from the audience, but the developers received a lot of criticism from mothers with young children for doing something similar for baby baths. It was after this incident that the company abruptly changed its direction of activity, and work began on the creation of a group of goods for children. This is where the name of the company comes from: 4moms literally sounds for moms and translates as "for moms".
The novelty, created by 4moms engineers, is the world's first robotic baby stroller, the most expensive and most sought-after brand product.
According to Forbes magazine, in America this unique product is offered for $ 850, in Europe its average price is about $ 1,500. Moreover, this stroller already has many fans. It is especially popular among young people who cannot imagine life without gadgets.
Features of the models
The product has 4 wheels and 4 support points. The manufacturers have taken care of both children and their parents: this vehicle has a lot of storage space for various little things - the seat back has a pocket for various little things. With him everything will be at hand: wet wipes, a bottle, and an e-book. But the main feature of this mobile device is not this, but that it is fully automated.
The stroller is charged from the mains or directly on the move from generators located on the rear wheels. They also feed the LCD display, which shows a lot of interesting information - the amount of distance traveled, the speed at which the object is moving, as well as the temperature of the surrounding air. In addition, messages about possible malfunctions in the operation of the mechanism and even how the baby sits correctly are displayed on it. For busy parents who cannot part with their tablet or smartphone even during a walk, there is a charger that allows them to always stay connected. And also on the display you can select the gender of the child.
With its dimmable day and night lights and roadside lighting, this technological wonder is more like a luxury car than a stroller. In addition, the model has a sensor that detects the presence of a child in the stroller, which will block the mechanism and prevent it from folding. The stroller is folded like a "book".

Varieties
There are two models of robotic strollers in the 4moms assortment range. Both models have similar dimensions. So, the width of the wheelbase of both options is 67 cm. This must be taken into account when buying, since not every lift opens so wide. The height of the back is quite comfortable - 48 cm. When folded, the stroller is 965 mm long, 355 mm wide and 530 mm high. When unfolded, these parameters are 1060 mm, 670 mm and 1010 mm, respectively. The wheels are rubber, solid, with different diameters: the front circumference is 15 cm, and the rear is 23 cm.
The front wheels can be rotated 360 degrees or fixed in one position. The strollers are equipped with a folding chassis, a stroller unit, a removable protective hood and a luggage basket, a bag for mom, which can also be fastened on the stroller handle and unfastened, as well as a power supply unit for recharging them. Both models have a lot in common, but there are also differences.
Origami Series 2 in 1
The Origami 2 in 1 stroller is designed for the age group from six months to 4 years. The maximum passenger weight is 20 kg. In special cases, a slight overload of instructions is in principle allowed, but not recommended, as this affects the speed of movement.
The 4moms Origami stroller comes with a carrycot designed for newborns up to 9 kg. This mechanism can be easily removed from the chassis and carried using the existing carrying handle. It should be noted that it is located at a height of 57 cm from the base, so the carrying process will not affect the baby's sleep.
Correct body position is ensured by a rigid orthopedic base, and a soft mattress included in the kit will make your baby's stay in the cradle comfortable. The inside of the carrycot is trimmed with cotton fabric, which is safe in contact with the baby's delicate skin. The large hood can be adjusted to the angle of inclination, while it works silently. The fabric from which the exterior is made is practical, easy to clean, with a waterproof impregnation.
The 4moms Origami armchair is very soft and comfortable. The inner width of the seat is 23 cm. The backrest can be reclined at an angle of 40 to 70 degrees. All fabric covers are removable and easy to wash. Just like on the carrycot, the main seat of the stroller has a protective hood made of the same waterproof fabric. For the convenience of parents, it has a viewing window through which they can observe what their child is doing.
The frame of the Origami 2 in 1 model is designed in such a way that people of any height can operate it. The presence of small diameter wheels allows the stroller to roll like a suitcase, even when folded. For increased safety, the front chassis are lockable. The foot brakes are located at the back of the stroller. The model is distinguished by a very smooth ride, which is especially important in Russian conditions that are far from ideal. In addition, the product has excellent shock absorption on all four wheels.

Moxi type transformer
This is a later version of the 4Mom stroller, it is similar to its predecessor, but also has a few differences. As with the previous model, the Moxi also has an LCD monitor, USB port and headlights. Its difference is that it has the ability to unfold completely to a lying position and is easily transformed into a cradle, which makes it universal for all ages. This saves storage space that is always in short supply.
The stroller has the function to remember the history of visits and the duration of trips, which will allow you to compile statistics about your own lifestyle. And the number of calories burned, calculated per week or month, makes it possible to control your weight.
The folding mechanism of the Moxi, unlike Origami, is not automatic, however, due to its lighter weight (13 kg), this function is not difficult. Another nice bonus: this model provides the ability to install the walking block in different positions. The adjustable handle, which can be fixed in 5 different positions and adapts to any height, cannot but please. As in the previous version, this model is equipped with a 5-point harness with adjustable padding.
In addition, the Moxi option provides for the replacement of the stroller unit with a car seat. Thanks to the special adapters included in the stroller kit, it is possible to install a chair not only from 4moms, but also from many other firms.
Disadvantages of designs
However, with such a huge number of useful and interesting functions, there are parents who find some disadvantages in the stroller. Except for the high cost, the claims of users come down to several points.
- The basket is not big enough. There are complaints that when it is fully loaded, the stroller does not fold, and a malfunction message is displayed on the display.
- Origami model does not have a rocker handle, which, moreover, is not adjustable in height, and the seat does not unfold. However, the manufacturers took this shortcoming into account and eliminated it in the next Moxi model.
- Claims for fabric covers: judging by the reviews, they get wet easily, and the task of removing and washing them is not an easy one.
- Great weight. Not every mother can lift an object weighing 13-15 kg, and even several times a day. And if you add to this weight the child sitting in it, then the burden becomes completely unbearable.
- White seat belts are very easily soiled especially considering that they are in constant contact with the child.
