6 tips for choosing a pillow for your newborn

When a child appears in a family, he certainly wants to give all the best. Today we will focus on the selection of the right pillow for the baby and the main nuances that need to be taken into account.

When you need a pillow

Experts have come to the unanimous opinion that a little man under two years of age does not need a pillow at all, since its proportions are many times different from the proportions of an adult. The baby does not need to support the neck, because it does not yet have such a strong load. At the age of up to two years, the pillow can do harm at all, because an incorrectly selected accessory can interfere with the healthy development of the cervical spine.

Thickness

When choosing a pillow for a child, do not be afraid that most of them are very thin. As noted above, the baby has different body proportions, so he does not need a thick pillow.

The form

The correct pillow should have a standard rectangular shape. This can be conveniently placed in the bed, it will not roll and move.

Fabric structure

Everything is simple here: you need to avoid artificial materials that will obstruct the passage of air. Otherwise, the child will sweat while lying on such a pillow. And this will not lead to anything good. The best option is cotton!

Filler

The main requirement for the filler is hypoallergenic. In the early years, it is best to avoid wool and fluff, preferring latex and silk.

Care of the product

It is important here to avoid the formation of moisture on the pillow. You should not put a child with wet hair straight into bed. Dampness will quickly destroy the filler, among other things, creating a favorable environment for the development of a large number of microorganisms.

The pillow should always be dry and clean, then the sleep will be sound and healthy!
