Psychosomatics of lymph node inflammation in children and adults

Lymph nodes in adults and children enlarge quite often. This happens with colds, viral diseases, local inflammation, when the nodules adjacent to the site of inflammation increase. And sometimes they increase for no apparent reason, and then the possibility of psychosomatic lymphadenitis should be considered.

General information

Lymph nodes are unique peripheral organs of the lymphatic system. They are the filter of our body, passing through themselves the lymph coming from different organs... By their structure, these are round or oval formations of small sizes. They are located along the lymph flow.

Inside, each node is filled with lymphoid tissue. Its task is to protect, restrain pathogens if they enter the node with lymph. Inside the node, the liquid medium flows very slowly, since it has to overcome the three-dimensional network. The lymph is gradually saturated with antibodies that are important for protecting the body from various threats.

If an infection or cancer cells gets into the node, all the internal reserves of a small but very strong lymph node are rushed to destroy them.

The nodes are located in the elbow bend, under the arms, under the knees, in the groin. There are cervical, abdominal, chest, and femoral nodes.

The node enlarges when it is filled with lipids. The increase occurs in immune diseases, infectious lesions. If the inflammation is purulent, they speak of lymphadenitis.

If the nodes are enlarged, and the medical examination does not reveal the reasons for this, or the prescribed treatment does not help for a long time, they speak of a psychosomatic increase.

In this case, inflamed lymph nodes in the neck or groin should be treated with the assistance of a psychotherapist.

Psychosomatic causes

Psychosomatics studies the connection between the mental component and physiology. It has been proven that long-term stressful situations, negative emotions, internal stress can cause organic and physiological disorders in organs and systems.

Psychosomatic lymphadenitis suggests that internally a person is restless and unstable. Given the fact that the nodes perform a protective and cleansing function, their enlargement and inflammation are associated with the accumulation of a huge amount of negative emotions. The more a person experiences anger, the more likely purulent inflammation, and even the formation of phlegmonif the lymph node cannot withstand the pressure of pus and bursts.

There is a lot that is personal about swollen lymph nodes - according to psychotherapists most often such inflammations occur in people who feel defenseless, unable to stand up for themselves and their interests in front of other people or some unpleasant events... Also, inflammatory processes in the lymph nodes are characteristic of people who are used to feeling guilty for not being able to meet other people's expectations. If you need to do something without any apparent sense, stagnation occurs in the nodes, which also leads to an increase.

It is also important where exactly the nodes have increased.

Cervical and submandibular nodes, especially in children, often increase due to the fact that the child is afraid to be unloved, to do something for which he will be scolded, but cannot say it out loud.

The knot in the armpit increases against the background of a feeling of guilt towards a loved one, and the popliteal ones - due to the fact that a person has erected obstacles to himself for further personal growth or advancement in the professional sphere, or such obstacles have been created for him from outside.

Most often, psychogenic lymphadenitis affects people with unhealthy self-esteem, who do not love themselves, who do not know how to appreciate their abilities and talents, who live in complete dissatisfaction with themselves.

Treatment

Physical health can only be obtained if mental health is obtained. A person independently, but still better with the help of a psychotherapist or psychiatrist, needs to bring his feelings into balance in order to eliminate the root cause of an increase in the organs of the lymphatic system.

If there is a feeling of guilt, it is recommended to reconsider the attitude towards the events and people who caused it. It is important to forgive yourself and start living with a positive outlook on yourself and the whole world around you.

Relaxation techniques and speaking problems are helpful. If you do not accumulate difficult memories and grievances, then the lymph nodes will not enlarge and become inflamed without physiological reasons. Relaxation techniques for children are especially helpful. In combination with art therapy, it will be possible to find out the cause and gradually eliminate it.e.

However, you should not count on a quick recovery from a psychogenic illness - it occurs as a result of a long accumulation of stress, and therefore treatment will take a long time. You should also not give up the prescribed medications.
